I'm confused as hell, how can we identify types of it tho?
And if it is on VDSL, fewer choices of routers we can buy to replace the provided one?

QUOTE(junclj @ Feb 19 2020, 05:01 PM)
No, don't listen to her, according to your picture. Yours one is FTTH because there got BTU, router and the black fiber cable behind.
You may refer to this post too https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/4908243. This guy also get the same router as yours. Yes, TM is no more providing TP-Link or D-Link router. You may upgrade to better router by yourself such as RT-AC86U.
*
Ya the one in the photo with orange router looks like FTTH to me too because there is a Huawei ONU. First time see that orange router though.

Yes, need to run a 20m+ cable from router to my desktop, wonder if they can help...
*
If TM didn't change the installation terms then you can get 15m of Ethernet cable free from installer. I got a 15m Cat6 cable for free to connect ONU to router. I installed the cable myself, no extra installation charges.

If longer than 15m then have to pay extra per meter and if you do conceal wiring etc then need pay installer extra charges.

This is when I installed so I don't know if it's still the same installation terms now.

Yes I meant that router. Is the 88U newer model?
If I change to Asus router, do I need to change the huawei white modem as well?
*
The white Huawei stays and can't be changed anyway no matter what router you use.

So many sites slow or can't load now.

YouTube on PC and phone OK since using TM's YouTube cache server but YouTube on Android TV somehow doesn't use the same server and can only play 480p @ 1.2Mbps download speed.

International sites using Cloudflare CDN still can access.

* This is ping to a Netflix server in Denver for testing purposes. Netflix service in Malaysia is not affected.

QUOTE(go626201 @ Feb 21 2020, 11:25 PM)
The reason those service down,is because most of those service are hosted on the aws us,including epic site, ubisoft site, ubisoft login server etc.
The best way to solve is complain to both side, unifi and aws.
For now,get a vpn is a good way to solve without complain.
*
Definitely not just AWS. test-ipv6.com and speedtest.googlefiber.net can't load too. These are not using AWS.

*
If they wanna send a technician to your house and charge you RM53 means they still don't know the issue and is treating it like an isolated issue that only affects you.

Thanks. Till now it works.
Hope it will last forever. bcuz when I first setup google dns, it work then after few minutes browsing became slow.
When I check, the IPv6 connection drop. Wonder why IPv6 DNS broke my Internet  rclxub.gif

From my experience, IPv6 issues are usually due to router. DNS shouldn't affect much because even IPv4 DNS will return IPv6 address for sites that have IPv6.

yours also 800Mbps?
*
QUOTE(muscaa @ Feb 23 2020, 06:17 PM)
yes
previously 30Mb upgraded to 50Mb to 100Mb then 800Mb
*
Other possibilities...
30Mbps - > 50Mbps - > 100Mbps - > 800Mbps
30Mbps - > 50Mbps - +RM10 - > 100Mbps - > 800Mbps
So depending on original price of the 30Mbps...
30Mbps promo RM 179
30Mbps standard RM 199
30Mbps + Ultimate pack RM 229
End up 800Mbps can cost...
RM 179 or 189 or 199 or 209 or 229 or 239
Of course there are some other possibilities which makes lower than RM179 possible.

Hi, I'll be moving to a new house soon and finally I'll be able to get Unifi coverage.
So, is the RM199 package for 300Mbps + unifi Plus Box worth it?
Plan to terminate my Astro and go with NetFlix and unifi TV(if it is worth the money)
*
Unless you really need 300Mbps for downloading large files, 100Mbps should be enough and the media box provides better image quality than the plus box.

Last time I terminate astro when I got Unifi TV also. Now planning to downgrade Unifi and go Netflix.

Currently paying RM300+ for 800Mbps. If I recalled correctly I took the  30Mbps - > 50Mbps - +RM10 - > 100Mbps - > 800Mbps path of upgrades. Beginning this year, TM gives no more discount (and actually rise the base bill) and the bill goes from RM200+ to Rm300+ (I foolishly took the 3 months free promotion, but what option do I have really).

Any idea I can change this?

P/S: All the + is because I include the basic Unifi TV package. Cant live without NHK. So relaxing to watch, even the news segments.
*
I started with 30Mbps + Jumbo Pack, ended up with 800Mbps + Ultimate Pack. So far price is still the original 30Mbps + Jumbo Pack price. Might want to downgrade though. I didn't do the 3 months free promo.

Tm wont let us enjoy those bang for the buck deals for long
*
I checked the site just now, only RM79, 89, 129 and 159 available. The others RM149, 189 and 199 says out of stock.

Just want to ask, does anyone experience slowdown on loading Twitter pics and videos?
On my Maxis and Digi mobile smooth as usual.
It has been a week.
*
It has been more than a week. Probably like since end of last year... sometimes okay depending on what CDN Twitter routes to and if there's IPv6 available but on DiGi it's always okay.

In short, Edgecast CDN over IPv4 on Unifi = slow and packet loss. Edgecast IPv6 or Akamai = okay on Unifi. Depends on what Twitter's DNS give. Can't force it to use Edgecast IPv6 or Akamai.

Can we upgrade from 129 to 159 if still within contract?

Should be can... I'm now using RM129 with TV STB (the older VLAN600 one). I'm old customer so already have existing TV box.

Thanks. I'll try to ask via chat later.
Meanwhile about the Vlan, does it mean the new STB works without Vlan?
*
The latest Unifi Plus Box (black colour) uses Internet. You can consider this one as Unifi PlayTV app running on an Android TV box and not a real IPTV STB. Lower image quality than older STB and no channel numbers. The RM159 plan should be traditional STB with VLAN. Other plans are the new box.

I choose older date
Where to get that screen back?
*
That device selection screen only appears when you signed in another device that is different from the last two devices. The device you select will be replaced with the current device that shows this screen.
