I'm planning to switch from maxis 30mbps rm89 to unifi 100mbps. is there any way to get cheaper than RM129 per month like some people who get discount or whatever?

If got coverage others company, then celcom fiber or TIMES.
Anyway, good luck for you.

Just wondering guys, are all landed property's unifi installed as ftth? And Tm seems to not providing TP-LINK routers anymore?

This one is not FTTH, is VDSL type..
Not all landed property is FTTH type, subject to your area capability and demand.

indeed, cincai do the job especially taman area that very pack of houses in same lorong and white fiber box just put a little.
*
Shortcut until the max.. shakehead.gif
Perhaps maybe that day too peak (Due to too many appointment schedule to install unifi), then cincai cincai do.. As long as you receive internet connections then job is done.

Quality job 0%, internet connections up 90%, Stability (internet) 10%... Call to TM if still got issued.
That's their standard procedure.

they should add on more for that box. I wonder why, they didn't do that thing until now. TM really concern when its come for burning a bit their own cost.

QUOTE(QuantumEdge @ Feb 19 2020, 04:46 PM)
I'm confused as hell, how can we identify types of it tho?
And if it is on VDSL, fewer choices of routers we can buy to replace the provided one?
*
QUOTE(soonwai @ Feb 19 2020, 06:11 PM)
That's FTTH lah. See the Huawei ONT there.
*
Sorry sorry for all... notworthy.gif I overlook the bottom modem already. bangwall.gif
I just look across and saw the orange color router only. sweat.gif

But after I look carefully the picture, there is Huawei modem bottom there. It is purely fiber FTTH.
But how come TM give like this orange color router? Look like this router brand is Netlis (I don't know spelling correct or not, don't shoot me 1st.. unsure.gif )

But normally I saw some ppl living in apartment, Flat and those high-rise building, using this type of orange router.

QUOTE(junclj @ Feb 19 2020, 05:01 PM)
No, don't listen to her, according to your picture. Yours one is FTTH because there got BTU, router and the black fiber cable behind.
All landed houses are using FTTH as first priority, if you don't believe you can go to ask TM. Anyway, until nowaday, I still never heard any users who live in landed house are using VDSL. Just ignore the statement above. It's not true.
You may refer to this post too https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/4908243. This guy also get the same router as yours. Yes, TM is no more providing TP-Link or D-Link router. You may upgrade to better router by yourself such as RT-AC86U.

*
Yes, I admit myself I see wrongly, it is not VDSL but it is FTTH.

The statement you mentioned is not true at all. ONE of my friend who live the landed house (we called terrace house) using the VDSL..
Sound like fiber, but check carefully with my friend during CNY using Unifi Lite 10Mbps (That one is previously name of the package).. If simple word, that is streamyx 10mbps.. dry.gif

Same as the picture just now only the orange color router type, but there is no Huawei ONT modem.. That's crapped of TM mentioned that my friend's area NOT GOING for FTTH future project. (Behind reason I'm not sure why lah~)

I don't think so TM not providing TP-Link or D-Link anymore. Perhaps it might be shortage of router, so you are the nasib buruk give you this shit router with "Unifi" logo..

If you have such a bit budget brows.gif , that's the best you spend for purchase ASUS router one.. No one can beat from TP-Link and D-Link.

No big deal, we all make mistakes biggrin.gif
I've got 3 friends located in different states having Unifi installed recently, all of them are on landed property and TM still provides that Nestel or Netlis whatever router. Probably they are looking to reduce costs. At the moment it seems like only Unifi Lite is on VDSL while proper unifi with turbo potential in the future are all FTTH, I'll probably be getting an Asus router in the end.
BTW, can we ask those technicians to install ethernet cables?
*
Are you refer to ethernet LAN cables?

7 questions - you considered a little bit? If I asked other private info, then need to ask till 10 questions? Even I call to credit card center to ask for my card transaction, they won't ask until 7 questions.

Don't you think the questions are too many for just a non-sensitive information? And do you know what is personal data?

Do you think contract expiry period is personal data and sensitive and private?
*
When they ask questions for the verification, even through they ask you 100 questions. You MUST answer it.
Nothing to reject or deny. Well~ That is TM, not credit card center.. I never heard TM got do credit card business.. whistling.gif

TM think you ask any questions (they don't care you asking contract period, your age, married or not or you hold what package, how many kids you have), they think this is sensitive information. NO comment about for verification because TM takut mati..

You think that it's non-sense and bull-s*** asking 7 questions? Well~ Again this is TM, their s*** procedure like that. (Accept it or cancel your package if you not happy)
Otherwise, you don't ask them and DIY check yourself previously that you get agreement during you sign up.

While playing online multiplayer on PlayStation 4, I was downloading a digital game on PS4 my download speed was very very slow or sometimes not downloading but online match not affected. If I don’t play online game, my download speed is back to normal and very fast.

Previously I was using streamyx 8mbps, I can play online game smoothly and can download a digital game while playing online and it didn’t affect the latency. Now I changed to Unifi 100mbps, everything upside down.

Why?

Btw, I connected via lan cable and my router is netis which was given by TM.
*
I suggest you change your router, that is really disgusting router. puke.gif

You can use your PPPoE at your parents home. However the speed will probably be limited to your parent's 100Mbps as the subscribed speed is set in two places, according to your unifi login and at the BTU.

If your parents' home is in the same area, bring your BTU over then you'll get 500Mbps.
*
I guess you even bring BTU to the parents home also not functioning. Because the BTU has been do some setting already.
UNLESS you access the BTU admin account to change some setting (That is another stories..)

Previously I got bring whole router 100mbps to my parents home (10mbps), same the function max go to 10mbps only.
But if any internet down issued, better don't call to Unifi to troubleshoot because they can detect you are using different PPPoE to login in at different locations.

At least you still got 50mbps.smile.gif

Did speed tests a few times and got 2mbps-8mbps results.

Lol.. I pay 100mbps bill, but only used 50mbps.. So I get rebate for another 50mbps?

Got speedtest few times.. But normally after open 24 hrs with 3 days, then the speedtest will bcome like 8mbps speed.

Nid stop engine n pump petrol, then everything smooth already..

TM has sent me the wifi router, now they provide the Netis DL4480V1.
The internet is little bit smoother now because the Dlink DIR842 already got problem previously.

But this Netis wifi signal really crap... the signal strength detected stronger (3bars, sometimes 4bars) at upstairs than my Asus RT-N14UHP, but actually cannot load the internet at all. My Asus RT-N14UHP still can have around 10Mbps speed although just have 2 bars signal.

Really got to save money to have a better router. Asus AC66U compare to new AC59U, which 1 better?
*
Same too.. When I saw the technical taken out the Netis. I was like... "Oh, that is more make me crapped"..
Then they say so far they supply this type of router.. The rest TP-Link and D-link no more supply..

I never heard/see before Unifi CEO will comes out and say "Sorry about pricing unfair practice".
But it's good to raise and report to mcmc..

Seriously not fair at all.. Main busuk...

But the most worst case, that's the only Unifi will taken down the offer for that.. That's the end..

It's over. His history will make everybody remember him.
And after the new gomen up, straight prices up like jewellery price.

If the users has been bounded with another contract at other ISP, there is no way to ask cust to pay the penalty charges and jump ship to new ISP.
Unless the new ISP are willing to help users (at current ISP) pay off the penalty cost, then that is another story. (I'm not talking about the new ISP mthly rebate)

Plus I see from from one of the articles, the price is offer limited for 10 months rebate max only.. After that, the prices go up to GOLD price.
So nothing different for it.. UNLESS this ISP is offered for lifetime rebate...

hello all sifu ,
my friend has an Unifi with 300mbps and he is going outstation for months due to working.
will it work if  i borrow his modem and connect to my unifi?
if yes, will i get 300 mbps or still remain the same for my current Unifi speed which is 100 mbps?

sorry for asking stupid question. hope to you from your expert advice. thank you very much!
*
Your friend's Unifi account is 300mbps while yours unifi account is 100mbps. Am I correct?

If you say modem, then that is white color ONT modem.. (Normally supply by Huawei)
Am I right?

QUOTE(pisang @ Jun 12 2020, 10:04 AM)
ok. thank you.
yes, he is 300mbps, i'm 100mbps.
i can borrow both the white color ONT modem (maybe it's not called modem ,sorrry my bad) and the huawei router.
Meaning to say, i can borrow both devices.

since i borrow both devices... all his setting including user name and password remain unchanged (save in the devices).

haha.. i am just checking if this will work. Since his house is not really near me, i am thinking if i can get the answer without doing the actual trial. thank you.
*
For white color ONT modem, I think you can try as first since whether yours can support or not.
For my experienced, last time I bring my router (without this ONT modem).. No matter my friend is 100mbps.. But my address still only achieve with 10mbps only even use my friend username and password... So predict nid together with ONT modem. (Previously my one is 10mbps while my friend is 100mbps)

BUT another scenario based on TM technical say lah~ (I'm not so sure coz haven't try before).. They say if you bring your friez ONT modem and router to your places.. Your ONT modem might not run properly. Reason is the ONT modem inside setting has set the TM pole (I guess it's white box one) something like mac address or serial number to determine your ID and password. That was the 2 years ago lah..

But of course if there is any issued of internet connections (maybe not stable) during secretly using your friez device, u don't pandai pandai call cs and request to reset port ya...
(Else, TM cs will feel suspicious about yours.. hahaha..) Because they can see everything your current device router and ONT modem using...

hello everyone, i have a quick question regarding YEP2019 promo with below T&C:-
"In the event of early termination within the contract, customer will have to pay the remaining months balance as penalty. "
Does it mean if i register in Oct2019 (RM129*24=RM3096) and if i am planning to terminate now, i need to pay RM3096-RM1161=RM1677 as penalty?
No more RM500 penalty?

yes no more 500 for termination since last year
