If suddently Microsoft withdraw their licence to Huawei. No OS for that hardware, unless its meet linux requirement.

Jut received my T590 last week. so disappointed with the poor performance. suffered the terrible thermal throttling can extremely inconsistently cut off the speed to lowest frequency. The model i got is i78565u +MX 250 nvidia vga.

Once boot up the temperature will increase immediately to 57c. The thermal throttling will kick in at 56c temperature. the fan keeps spinning at max speed to bring down merely 1c to 56c and the system will try to keep CPU and GPU temperature to be sustained at 56c. However by doing that , the stock bios ver 1.55 would bring down cpu to 1ghz (peak 4ghz) and GPU down to  400mhz (max 1700Mhz).

Called up to onsite service and Lenovo technician came to replace fan and heat sink, however all remain the same and no improvement at all!

The most frustrating fact is the throttling is co inconsistent and causing most application running smooth for short while and later come with plenty intervals of slowing down.

This is happening to T490, P43s , T590 and P53s which were all design with identical platform..

Don buy any of these product untill lenovo fully fixed it.( bealived they have no solution too.

furthermore in a small and thin laptop housing, thermal throttling might will become an issue.

sure manufacturers could put huge fans blower, can even put dual & triple fans, multiple heatpipe config but still won't be able to solve the issue.
there's just not enough space for efficient cooling.


this is the 3500 pro, in an x395, completing the pcmark10.
no thermal throttling even though some of the CPU core hit 93deg intermittently.

till now nobody tried yet with their higher spec 3700
would be interesting to see if 3700 can hit max without being bogged down by the cooling system

naysayers will come in say they dont buy PC for benchmarking.
but this is pcmark. it tests the speed of normal daily computing.
if a PC gets bogged down by opening spreadsheet and word processing and web browsing, well something is amiss..

Lenovo start charging for microsoft office and student 2019 already. Luckily i bought earlier when its still free.

This is what I have been talking since many weeks back. If u like a laptop, just get it now. Dun wait for 11.11, 12.12, Black Friday, CITI45 or whatever promo. Price won’t different much. Also stop hoping for 1k laptop. U dun see lightning strike twice on same spot frequently.

I do not think RM2,500 is possible for Ryzen 7 Pro with 16GB RAM and 512GB SSD

I'm contemplating to buy Lenovo ideapad s540, now have voucher code can save rm400 to rm500.

Only problem is, I was thinking to get Intel core i5 8265U with discreet Nvidia MX250 2GB before discount RM3449, after discount RM2933
Or should I save on the money and get

AMD Ryzen 7 3700U with integrated Radeon Vega 10 before discount RM3099, after discount RM2635?

I will use the laptop for minor video editing and light gaming

Does i5-8265u with mx250 has Optimus graphic switching between integrated and discreet GPU? For eg when normal browsing only = use integrated intel GPU, then when using video editing = use mx250 ?

Too many adapters won't that be dangerous anyway I think I need look at either replace the charger or all those adapters I buy are crap. They look the same design as ones sold in taobao since my Shopee seller is frm China.

Damn it charging my thinkbook battery percentage goes down. And I now noticed its having same issue as old converter. Does this laptop support 45w charging? Or is my Aukey PA-Y13 is faulty I need return it?

3 dongle already don't think its cable since 1of them came with cable. I don't think it's all due to dongle since I tested 3 different dongle though cheap ones. I really think it's the aukey charger but it's pd slot works as QC so I don't think I can sent for rma since it still output just maybe not 77w or even 45w.
