Guys, I'm looking for a second helmet for daily use. Right now I'm still using trusty old arc discovery bought back at 15 years ago and doing great but got wear and tear already. Right now I'm eyeing for kyt nfj because I like Petronas livery, hjc fg jet and shoei j-cruise 2. How's kyt compare to hjc helmet? And what about hjc? Does it good? I'm familiar with shoei but I wish I don't need spend rm2k for helmet.

Wow 15 years old helmet.

Kyt, hjc and shoei. They all in different category my friend. Good budget, cheap premium and premium. All different price point. Difference would be padding quality and other materials PC vs fiberglass. For open face I don't feel that much difference because its all noisy. Padding for me all of them it's fine but kyt is cheaper to replace whenever it become thin.

I use nfj myself I admit my neotec 2 liner fabric feels softer to me but nfj is quite good for the price

How about hjc? seems hjc fitment a tighter than standard which my head measures 57cm. Does it tighter too for open face helmet? Im aware the discussion above is for fullface category. There's a quite positive feedback for hjc fg jet.

Brands do follow certain head shapes but even between models they can differ. Best to test the helmet at a brick and mortar and spend 30 minutes wearing them before you pull the trigger. Just make sure the crown of the head isn't to tight. The cheek is suppose to be tight even with an open face. The padding will break in over time around the cheek.

For the hjc...to put into perspective, my friend and i have the same modular mt helmet...same size model.etc...he actually tested mine n liked the fitment n bought for himself...he also bought a hjc jet helmet (forgot model)...he hated it..but when i try that helmet i loved it..fitment was nice n super.comfy...i also.like that the cheek area goes a lil lower than most other jet helmets...its definitely.comfier than my givi jet helmet but since i ride a naked, i feel the givi cuts thru the wind better. So end of the day still best to try it urself to see...coz someone may like it but u may hate it.

And to add to ur confusion, look at the lazer tango sr helmet available at lsh...abt rm500. Thats a jet helmet i wanna buy coz it was so comfy when i tried it on and it looks damn good with a visor that has a sharper profile than my givi (to cut thru the wind) and also looks like it goes down a lil further than my givi

Riding at that speed. I would advice you to up your budget and get better rated helmets.

Got 2x LS2 Metro FF324 that were in the RM500+ price range when I got them. Not too impressed with the polycarbonate shell as they flex quite a bit, causing issues with the drop-down sun visor. Owned 4 different LS2 fullface models before, never had any flexing issue due to the non-modular design.

Due to the flex, the drop-down sun visor would catch & get stuck. Not an issue on short rides, but an annoyance on long rides coz I absolutely need my drop-down visor to work smoothly.

Maybe it's the luck of the draw since you can't inspect them when buying online.

Also... one of the FF324 helmets is the Firefly model that has a matt finish. Total garbage, held up for 2 years before flaking off. Had a Givi fullface with a matt finish before, and that didn't hold up well either. Moral of the story - steer clear of matt finishes, stick to gloss only.

On the plus side, they readily take an intercom system & was able to mount a thin Ordro 4K gimbal cam without issues.

Anyhow, I'm getting the Scorpion Exo Tech next. It's the best looking modular whose chin bar is designed to flip all the way back.

I found I tend to ride with the chin bar open quite a lot, so now I want a modular helmet that allows me to flip the chin bar out of the way completely instead of leaving it hanging open on top of my head.

Not too familiar with Roof, Shark & Airoh coz these brands are a scarcity here.

I have checked out the LS2 FF399 Valiant & the newer model FF900 Valiant II. The chin bars are huge which gives these helmets a wide, round bottom look. Makes me look fatter than I already am.

Tried the older Scorpion ADX1 modular at Motoworld and I like the fit of Scorpion helmets, so I'm quite partial to the Exo Tech... when it's back in stock, that is.

Thanks all for the reply...will check around and see which is suitable. Like all mention...need to test the helmet to get the feel. Planning to get open face x 1 for local ride and ff x 1 for longer journey. After reading all sifus opinion here..might skip modular due to budget reason as well as weight.

Currently eyeing on Givi M30 series..either m30.1...2 or .3..any feedback on these helmet..seems like cant go wrong with Givi stuff..am I correct to say so..?

What about Givi vento 50.1 or .2..? Any review on these stuff as well.? Hardly found review internationally on Givi helmet that sold locally on utube...

Thanks for all feedback and input..

🙂😊

Ignore m30.1 n get .2 or .3...those come with sun visors..i have the m30.3 n i ride a naked bike...comfy n high speeds the helmet doesnt get pushed by the wind as much as others ive tried. Couple of friends has the m30.2 n they are happy with theirs too.

M50.2 for the sun visor though ive never used it before..

u could also look at lazer helmets sold at lsh racing world if they r within ur budget..

Lazer tango sr open face is ard 499
Lazer rafale sr ard 799

Ive tried both n they are really comfy

for shark helmets, can direct contact the distributor in kl.
the latest flip-up model is evo gt which is available here.

airoh helmet only some model available.
roof - no distributor (used to have)

shark evo gt locks the chin bar when it is fully flip up.
ls2 doesnt hv this feature.

Usually the pricier helmet have many shell size. Shoei has up to 3 depending on model. If they have it it will be stated in their website

Guys, sorry if this isn't the right place to post, haven't logged in for a while, but I'm looking to find a home for a good helmet. Pls direct me to the right place if this isn't the right section.

Bought for the wife, but sadly, wrong size. She wore it only for 15mins but said too small. Sigh.

Scorpion Exo 920 modular helmet in matt black, S size. 100% original.
Got it for over 800 new, I'm looking for 550 nego. Pristine condition, pretty much brand new. Will throw in a new TCOM VB headset for another 100.

Tx, appreciate it. DM for more info.
