yes i understand,

thing is most helmet cater for oval head shape thts y ppl hv no choice but to buy larger size...

i find it really odd thou, since i think most of us here in malaysia would tend towards rounder heads, why don't we have more of those around.

what about those malaysia or indonesian brands? anyone has experience with them? are they more suited to our head shape?

i believe so, probably more oval than neutral. If i am not wrong, I tried it once and it was not the right shape for my head.

being tight on the ear is not the best indicator but should be taken into consideration since being comfortable in your helmet is very important. since you are talking about the Bell Qualifier, i am assuming you are using a full face for your LS2 too? everyone's head is different, but i think if you can insert a finger and reach your ears in a FF helmet then it is probably ill fitting (probably too large) for you.

a full face helmet cheek pad should be pressed firmly into your cheek while not giving you pressure points on the top of your head.

if your cheek pad is not pressed firmly against your face, you should try a size smaller (without introducing pressure point at the top ofcoz). a new helmet should be very snug but has no significant pressure points. i typically choose one where i can feel my inner cheek pressed against my gum. the cheek pad will mold to your face after a week or two and the pressure on the cheek will lessen while still giving a tight fit.

BUT if everything about the helmet is nicely fit and your ears being folded in is the only issue you are facing, you might have elf ears and the best solution is probably to use a skull cap.

Open face for LS2 spitfire and its freaking tight, had to forcefully insert my finger to adjust my ears cuz its folded. the ear pads can be removed but has yet to try it. as for the bell Qualifier, there's definitely pressure on my ears when i tried it on but not as bad as ls2. I also tried Lazer rafale sr helmet, trying to find more info whether its neutral oval or intermediate oval cuz its darn comfortable, fits like a glove

any pressure point is a sure fire way to tell. imagine trying to squeeze a ball into an oval hole and you will have a good idea of where you can expect the pressure points to be, you will typically have pressure along the sides while the front and back has room. since everyone's head is different, the pressure points can be in different places around the circumference of the head, for most people its probably on the temper, for some it could be on the side of the head.

ideally you want a helmet where every part of your head presses more or less equally on and it should be a little difficult to put on and remove. i mean like you really have to pull it in as the liner will mold a little to your head.

can try Lazer helmet, i think my head is more rounder than intermediate oval and lazer helmet fits perfectly.
I was having issues with my ears feeling very tight. even their AGV k3 i feel abit tight on my ears. bell qualifier is tighter but lazer fits perfectly on my head. XL size.

I cycle so I do wear cycling helmets. I have a round asian head. I used to wear Sepcialized helmets but they felt loose with a quick turn of the head and I need to wear a buff to stabilise the fit.
More oval shaped brands like Kask and Abus also need a buff to help with fit.
Only kabuto and some lazer helms just sit on my head and fit comfortably without a buff.

have you used a tape measure to measure the circumference of your head around the temper?

when you wear the helmet, dont push it down frm top down.

hold both straps pull open both sides, open face is more flexible, put ur head diagonally frm side of temple..

kinda hard to explain without vid or pic..

What helmet brand you tried?

I used to wear an LS2 modular size XL which was passed down from a friend so the pads were already quite worn, same case also very tight until lipat ear. Now I bought my Shoei Neotec 2, measure my head I'm only supposed to use a size L if follow Shoei charts, and the shell size of the L Shoei is larger than the XL size LS2! The LS2 chin bar would touch my chin while the Shoei still had loads of room, and my ears do not fold in when wearing the Shoei.

Do avoid China helmets as you don't know how safe they are.

In a simpler term when u wear the helmet wear it diagonally from front so when the helmet comes down it won't be folding ur ears

Mostly LS2 (full face and modular), because i walk the Sentul street and nearly find shop by shop. mostly reach XXL(Maybe I still missed some shops). only LS2 is got 3XL on stock. The funny things is when i tried the LS2 3XL modular, the flip up part cant even be flip down already. I now using 4XL, have 0 loose and chin still touch the chin bar if I open mouth. Maybe i need try find if any Shoei that provide customization. Also found out HJC CL-17 have size up to 4XL.

I did know your concern. If KYT have my size, I sure go for it. The mood when you walked down whole sentul street and all shop give you their head shaking. doh.gif
