with the recent hype of many good releases from Timex.. I'm wondering why no one talk about it here like the marlin / Q / celestial opulence automatic with ghost dial?

early this week I gotten a call from Arista Marketing offering me the Q Timex at retail price RM999 as I registered into the waiting list previously.. I think it is on a higher end pricing for a quartz timex buy heck it is a good looking watch..

ps: here is my Timex Peanuts Collection all ordered from Timex USA all on horween straps.. one donor strap from my 40th anniversary and two from nomadwatchworks..

I have a small wrist therefore most of my timepieces are between 35 to 38mm blush.gif

recently Timex USA website listed the new Navi XL 41mm Fabric Strap Watch Featuring NASA Logo on Dial.. looks very cool especially with that 24hour dial circle on it

I managed to secure a Timex Q at around RM680 or so from the Todd Synder site, but they don't ship to Malaysia or SG ranting.gif

The first watch I bought with my own salary was a Timex. Sometime a bit sentimental about this brand.
Looking to buy the Waterbury automatic though the only thing I don't like is its movement.

what's wrong with that movement? I like the white dial on strap option.. looks clean and elegant..

one thing about timex quartz movement is that it ticks loudly.. I don't mind when I'm wearing it but it does bother me quite a bit when sleeping time especially having 4 of them sitting on my desk

but the solution is simple, I just need to shut my watch box to achieve a peaceful night sleep innocent.gif

From what I read online, the Miyota 8125 generally has negative reviews. Would be better had they chose Miyota 9015 instead. Usually I prefer Swiss movement (ETA/Sellita).
But I like the white dial with strap option a lot that I would make an exception in this case.

I actually ordered a Timex Marlin but had to cancel it as I realized that Waterbury automatic was released a few weeks ago with better specs (mineral crystal and higher water resistance).
This watch is elegant but does not look expensive. There are occasions where I prefer not to wear an expensive watch.

marlin to me is way more dressy while waterbury has more sort of a casual vibe

I used to own quite a few eta pieces in the past but eventually sold all and started collecting seiko 6r15 jdm pieces for daily wear..

servicing is only rm200 and I can buy more pieces as opposed to swiss made timepieces icon_rolleyes.gif

from what I've heard the miyota 8215 accuracy is quite bad straight out of their factory

should probably send to watchmaker to get it adjusted if you really enjoy wearing the watch on a daily basis

timex to me is truly a fun brand to wear without needing to baby them as they are so affordable and easily obtainable

How much does it cost to service an ETA in KL?
Any watchmaker that you would recommend?
Thanks!

Im guessing those carousellers purposely put a very high price so they could keep wearing it LOL. i have one incoming at rm999. Already arrived at my wife's office but have not collect yet. This piece sure is a winner.

actually they are selling as new therefore not wearing it.. these are the ones who buy just to resell for profit

arista contacted me to offer this at 999 too but I just couldn't justify getting a quartz timex at this price point..

this is a nice watch to own but I don't want to follow the hype 😅

anyway congrats on your new timex.. please do share some wrist shots once you get it on your wrist smile.gif

Yeah. Scalpers. Effing hate them. I never liked Timex. But somehow, they strike with this one. Like seriously. Its one of the best reissue if not THE best. And i do not mind the quartz as the original comes with the same spec.

Yeah will do. I just hope the bracelet go easy on me. Heard its a hair puller. Haha. Just like the 70s

not to say I don't like Timex but this brand never really got my attention until sometime early 2018 when I found out the peanuts weekend with snoopy hands from amazon

I actually think timex is doing great with most of the recent releases since the reissue of marlin series

the recent release of Celestial Opulence Automatic Collection that nobody talks about is also very cool with the ghost mystery minute hands dial

I would totally rock that blue dial with rose gold case if it was offered in quartz and half that price point of the current rrp.. but then my gf says it look girlish confused.gif

looks great but gonna pass.. haven't seen myself willing to spend anything above rm500 for a timex yet..

I'm sure this batman release will again be hyped up and resellers whacking all the stocks to double their profit once is up for sale

maybe in the future if their movements are upgraded or something really unique that I must have it in the collection drool.gif
