The first watch I bought with my own salary was a Timex. Sometime a bit sentimental about this brand.
Looking to buy the Waterbury automatic though the only thing I don't like is its movement.

what's wrong with that movement? I like the white dial on strap option.. looks clean and elegant..

one thing about timex quartz movement is that it ticks loudly.. I don't mind when I'm wearing it but it does bother me quite a bit when sleeping time especially having 4 of them sitting on my desk

but the solution is simple, I just need to shut my watch box to achieve a peaceful night sleep  innocent.gif

From what I read online, the Miyota 8125 generally has negative reviews. Would be better had they chose Miyota 9015 instead. Usually I prefer Swiss movement (ETA/Sellita).
But I like the white dial with strap option a lot that I would make an exception in this case.

I actually ordered a Timex Marlin but had to cancel it as I realized that Waterbury automatic was released a few weeks ago with better specs (mineral crystal and higher water resistance).
This watch is elegant but does not look expensive. There are occasions where I prefer not to wear an expensive watch.

marlin to me is way more dressy while waterbury has more sort of a casual vibe

I used to own quite a few eta pieces in the past but eventually sold all and started collecting seiko 6r15 jdm pieces for daily wear..

servicing is only rm200 and I can buy more pieces as opposed to swiss made timepieces  icon_rolleyes.gif

from what I've heard the miyota 8215 accuracy is quite bad straight out of their factory

should probably send to watchmaker to get it adjusted if you really enjoy wearing the watch on a daily basis

timex to me is truly a fun brand to wear without needing to baby them as they are so affordable and easily obtainable

How much does it cost to service an ETA in KL?
Any watchmaker that you would recommend?
Thanks!

I sent my watches to Steven @ Wah Foong Jalan Raja Laut

last time I wanted to service my breitling colt with 2824 movement was quoted around rm600 by another watchmaker

This Polish website https://zegarownia.pl sells Timex watches with discount off the listed price.
Use Google Chrome to translate it. 1 PLN = 1.07 MYR.
It gives an indication on how low can the price goes.
But they don't ship to MY. Only ship to some EU countries, including Germany where there's re-shipping service.

Good to know. Timex's price falls rather fast.
