Hi, got some questions to ask on HU:

1) Im planning to get a 7862 with teyes ui mod, 3+32 GB, is the specs sufficient for me to just use it for Google Maps/Waze with Spotify and 360 camera?
3GB good for couple years

2) Im planning to get teyes mod as Im checking on their youtube and it seems nice. Is teyes mod a must for the "ui upgrade" or should i stick with the original UI or go for apps like VIVID launcher etc.
many want TEYES UI since original TEYES player is expensive

3)Im checking on taobao as well and found out there are 7862 listings with the same specs (without teyes mod and 360 camera) are selling for around RM 400+, anyone had experience on this?
bought android player lazada RM700 back in 2021, shipped from China, so far no problem

4)Is installing a a new mod on a HU safe to do? or is it as same as formatting an android phone with custom ROM etc.

My personal take, stick to your stable firmware. teyes mod is kinda hit and miss. Not all units will work flawlessly. This is based on some users feedback.

If you run a teyes mod (real original) chances are there are alot of 3rd party hardwares like elm327 may not work as teyes only allows its own hardware to work well.

If you purchase from taobao you have to consider the unit comes without warranty. Hit & miss but good to gamble if you know what you're doing as the cost is more than half of market rate.

no point running custom rom tbh. the fancy interface will fade over time. practicality and stability are the 2 main criteria you need to choose a headunit appart being fast.

i have a question about Headunit Reloaded app

from what i can gather, installing the app on any tablet/android device, and subsequently connecting to an android phone, I would be able to use android auto?
so for example my car currently has an android head unit from 4 years+ ago, with 2gb RAM but doesnt have AA/CP support - using this headunit reloaded app I will be able to use AA on the car?

has anyone heard about Car wave brand android player? or any good player with teyes like UI player can recommend? usually will use radio mostly and waze, seldom youtube in car. budget around 1.5k

Normally android player the radio reception is not good? They are even worse than the stock headunit in ur car
