its like a phone. where chipset is sell by the chipset manufacturer, eg like qualcomm produce snapdragon 8 series of chipset, together already with modem chip, wifi, bluetooth chip etc. and phone manufacturer ( xiaomi, samsung, vivo, etc) take this hardware, put their own design and then use google android source code, compile their own skin addon their special features etc.
7862 and TS10 have same chipset, same cpu, radio chip, sound processor chip etc. but both have diff firmware, and diff display screen. and this chipset, seem use by diff android manufacturer company and put their own branding, even those its the same things inside. even firmware also same. and some have customized firmware and product package with proper warranty, better OLED display eg like the Teyes company, hence by the price for this teyes CC3 is much more expensive than generic brand that use same 7862 chipset.
Just curious, those big brand liek Kenwood , Sony, Pioneer dont produce Android player, right ? Correct me if I am worng. Even if they have Andorid player, they doesnt come with 7862 or TS10 , right ? 7860 or TS10 is quite 'high end' android player nowadays , right ?
anyone using android player in newer proton models? Heard that if use aftermarket player, the original reverse sensor wont work.. some says can use canbus and it works but some says it wont work..

Couple of years ago when I was seeking for a car player, went thru couple of branded players, unfortunately none of them meets the current standard of technology and features.
Finally gave up and went with China models. They been reliable thus far.

When I ordered from them, I assume China wrongly packed the android player. Paid for 3Gb ram 32GB memory but end up receiving 4GB ram 64GB memory when the player clearly put a sticker 32GB variant.

Working tip top condition. Planning to subscribe a data plan from Yoodo to keep spotify off my Apple Carplay since running wireless is buggy cause is not made for android HU in anyway apart from those branded has propriety. It works instantly whenever is wired apple car play.

I found a cheap andriod player. Brand VSL, 9 inch. Proc TS10, 4gb ram, 32 gb storage. But no fan. Can overheat??

What is the boot time after engine start? Does it switch to reverse camera while the HU booting?
It seems the seller don't come with casing and plu-and-play cable. You need to get casing/cable to mount to your car?

I had experience in previous car for unbranded android HU. It was buggy with bad integration experience. Prefer to find a reliable with good support unit now.
You may join Teyes group too see how is the after sales support. Best is better you pray for nothing happened to your HU. Not much you if you want those offer firmware update, then go for branded one.

If you want to just use waze/spotify, you don't need mirror link. Just Android Auto. Cheapest Android Auto supported HU that I bought was this : https://www.lazada.com.my/products/i2850921...ls.item_title.1 Note that this also says that it supports mirroring. but honestly I don't use it because Android Auto is more than enough
7862 seems to be going up in price, so RM900+ ish seems about right. I bought mine before Aidilfitri for RM800. Can't find this price anymore :V If you want something cheaper, TS18 player are around RM500~RM600. I would recommend this if you are not using 360 camera as the 3GB model is more than enough for daily use.
For installation. the rule of thumb is RM60 = install head unit + RM60 = install rear view camera.
