no need to check manufacturing date because I purchased on 12/12/2019.

1. make sure your AirPods really have the crackling sound, use both AirPods and play the song Better - Khalid....if got crackling sound then proceed below...crackling will be more obvious when ANC is activated....
2. I went to switch and approach the service dept
3. Tell the service personnel you have cracklind sound AirPods Pro
4. they will ask you to remove the silicone tips from both AirPods
5. pass them the charging case with the AirPods
6. they will issue a service receipt
7. they will check with their device/ machine to confirm the crackling sound
8. then they will call you and ask you to pick up replacement AirPods within a week.

AirPods Pro produce before October 2020 with crackling sound can claim within 3 years of purchased/ activation date

Okay thanks for the info. I'll test mine out more with that song and see....because mine is newly purchased during Sep this year and only occasionally I hear some crackling sound during conference calls.

I hear crackling on mine whenever the bass kicks in....like speaker pecah....

aiyoyo.......have to suffer twice unable to use it for 3-4 days for each claim.....

yea...have to wait 1 week after submit for claim
but is good tho coz im quite heavy usage, they detect the battery health is low as well, so after claim they replace a new pair but not the charging case.
recently claim the 2nd time, they told me it cover the crackling sound for another year from the date i receive this replacement unit, before apple extend the crackling thingy to 3years

Good to know on the additional year of coverage. I too had mine changed twice (once before they announced this program and while it was under warranty, so they replaced an entire new set (both AirPods Pro + casing)) and the 2nd time during this program (so only both the AirPods Pro were replaced, casing was not changed).

Have your airpods pro firmware updated to 4a400?
I got mine during 10.10 sales, it comes with firmware 3E751 but I have no idea how to get it updated to the latest firmware.
Plugged in charger and let my iphone 11 sit beside the airpods for over 30 minutes with the case open but still stuck at 3E751.

i tried your method before...not working for me..

so i charge my iphone instead..playing music on app at the same time(during housekeeping time)...it updated after that..

with the airpods inside the case nearby the iphone?
i need the latest firmware because i need to use conversation boost, it's the sole reason i bought the airpods pro

nope..i using the airpods pro...mayb u can try to charge both while waiting it to update..

Is abit tricky but it will get updated by itself when placing next to ur iphone.
I hv tried everything to get it updated but no luck.
Then I just left it next to the iphone overnight and it just get updated the next morning when I woke up.
