Agree with Everdying. The Metal Zone, as much as we knock on it, still is a versatile pedal with lots of room to tweak and adjust.

Since your friend has a MT-2, try it out, but with different settings and see that it'll sound totally different.

Also, I would STRONGLY recommend a Wah pedal..... a necessary tool in any guitarist's arsenal.

yup.... kirk hammett loves wah a lot

you can tweak the settings to get a less distorted tone. the mt-2 has as wide range of tones to play with

i've been an MT-2 user for more than 3 years. so yeah, i agree with the others that it really have a wide variety of sound. from low-end punch of metallica to jojet's old school rock and roll. to quote something i read over the net, "whoever said MT-2 doesn't have enough gain, does not know how to tweak it". although it tends to get noisy at high volume with crappy pickups.

and yeah, as everdying said, the sounds varies from one equipment to another.

MT-2 is one of the more versatile of BOSS's compact pedals selections.

guitar store?
ah k, the DS-1 you got was modded by someone in Guitar Store.
brand new DS-1 basically is about RM150.
so yea, the extra price is you paying some local guy to mod it for you.

i dunno if its good or not, cos never tried.
and im not too bothered with modded pedals.
if you want a specific sound, im pretty sure someone out there makes a pedal for it.

Wui modded mine for RM 50. It sounds way different than the stock pedal. I've not tried keeley's ds-1 though, but for the price I paid Im pretty satisfied.

ML-2 may win in the low-end crunch department, but in terms versatility, MT-2, i believe is still more versatile.

too much crunch, you'll loose tone.

to each his own cool2.gif . i'm already too lazy to mess around with one measly compact pedal and a wah. imagine how confusing it would be to have to mess around with a multiFX and more pedals. sweat.gif
