Due to time factor, the qualifier for the Asian WorldCyberGames is not open to the public. The method of team selection for the Asian WorldCyberGames qualifiers would be by invitation only.

About the registration fee :
(SMM and In2 sponsor is the fees to Sg)
But to held the qualifier there is no fund for it so all the money that is collected will be paid for management fees, marshal fees, venue booking and etc.

We hope u all will understand that we held this qualifier to give more chances to top seeded team and not just 1.
We also wish to open it to public but due to time restraining factor we aren't able to do so.
If we do not held a qualifier then the management will pick a representing team and that wont be fair to other able top teams, right?

We would hope you all to understand our situation. Anyway all fans and public are invited to come and watch the match.


Rules :

Defense of the Ancient All-Stars Rules & Regulations

Game: Defense of the Ancient All-Stars (Latest Warcraft III: FT patch applied)
General:
- Competition Method: 5 vs. 5
- Match Length: 2hrs 15mins (If game last more than 2hrs 15mins, organizer will have the right to stop the game and make final decision of the winner through view of replay)
- Match Winner: The team who destroys the opponent's throne/world tree first, or if the opponent surrender.
- Nationality Restriction: Players who participate in the Asian Championship must hold citizenship of the country he or she shall represent (no permanent resident status, etc. will be acceptable).
Game Settings:
- Version: 6.43b or later
- Game Mode: All pick (-ap)
- Game Speed: Fast
Coin Toss:
The match will begin with a coin toss and winner of the coin toss will get to choose:
(a) Sentinel/Scourge side of the map or
(b) the first hero selection from drafting

Heroes drafting:
- The team that starts off the drafting will have 45secs to decide on the 1st hero, after which next team also gets 45 secs to choose their 1st hero. This process is repeated until all the heros are selected.
Team that fail to pick their hero within 45secs will receive a warning for time wastage. Any team that accumulates 3 warning during drafting will have one player taken off the team. That player will be replaced with a computer slot during the match.
- If any team is found to have any hero which is selected differently from what was decided earlier, the referee has to be informed immediately. Team which made the mistake of selecting the wrong heroes after game starts will be penalised (Warning or Game Loss).
In any situation when any team did not select their heroes according to what they have decided, referee will use the heroes' selection list recorded to verify if that team is guilty of making the mistake. Then referee award warning or game loss if the team is found guilty of making the wrong selection.

Important Rules:
- Team that chooses the sentinel side will host the game.
- Team members are not allowed to change seats once DOTA map has started to load.
- At the end of the match, players must maintain the final screenshots and receive confirmation from the referee. At the end of the game, replay has to be saved and named as WCG_DOTA_TEAM1vsTEAM2 by the winning team leader or at least one of the team members. Failure to do so will cause the game to be void and no winner will be declared for that game.

Game Play:
Backdooring
Backdooring in WCG games is allowed. However, instances of teleport abuse are not allowed. You cannot use any form of teleport (furion skill, ignis fatuus, or Boots of Travel) to enter an enemy base UNLESS your creeps are already present in the base. So, for example, teleporting with Boots of Travel onto an ignis fatuus that runs in to backdoor is illegal. Another example is having your teamates backdoor and enters an enemy base and then teleport to your teamates as Furion. This is illegal because your creep wave is not present. Some of these measures have since been restricted in recent mapversions in support of this rule.

Intentional Use of Game/Program Bugs: A warning at the minimum or loss by default:
-Intentional use of any program bugs will result in a warning at the minimum or loss by default for the offending player.
1. Trees Trapping (Disqualification):
Trapping enemies in trees intentionally is not allowed.
2. Pooling (Warning or Game Loss):
No pooling of any sort is allowed. This means that items bought with a player's own money cannot at any time be carried by any of his teamates. Items bought with the player's own money can only be carried or sold by him. This rule only applies to players on the same team. Players can pick up items dropped by their opponents.
3. Pause Abuse (Warning or Game Loss):
During heroes' selection. From the point after hero selection process is completed, pausing without any valid reason is disallowed.
4. Creep Blocking (Disqualification):
Creep blocking is not allowed but creep slowing is allowed. Blocking here refers to the prolonged blocking of creeps to disrupt their usual path. (ie: Using Chen's creeps to block the entire entrance of the base for a long time.) Creep slowing means that you can stop the creeps from moving in their usual path for a few seconds. (ie: Using fissure)
5. Bugs Exploitation (Warning, Game Loss or Disqualification):
No Exploitation of any known old or new bug discovered during play. Explanations like "exploiting/activating the bug unknowingly", "we had no idea this bug existed" or similar excuses will not be entertained. Participants/Teams are expected to know what these are.
Examples of Bugs:
Earthshaker using "Fissure" to target out of the edge of the map. Results in a fatal error in some instances. Any players found doing this will be disqualified.
Black King Bar cannot be shifted or dropped. Any players found doing this will be disqualified.
6. No control sharing (Disqualification):
Strictly no control sharing. Only when there is one more or team mates disconnects, then you can share the control of that player(s)' hero. However, you cannot take, pass or sell that hero's item(s).
Warning : After warning is given games goes on. If three warnings are accumulated then the team will be ejected from the tournament upon receiving the third warning.
Game Loss: Game loss given to a team mean the team loses the current game no matter what is the result of that game. A win would be awarded to opponent instead.
Disqualifications: A team disqualified will be ejected from the tournament. They will not be able to continue further in the current event.

Disconnections:
Any team members who intentionally drop out of the game might cause that member's team to be given a game loss for that game. Appeal can be made but decision by the referee will be final.
If the game hangs, do not change anything and leave the screen as it is. Pause the game and notify the referee immediately.
If any players are disconnected within 10 minutes after game starts then the game has to restart.
If any players are disconnected 10 min after game starts then the game will continue. The dropped player's team must leave the items on the dropped hero and is NOT allow to sell the items of the dropped hero. At no time shall a player take an item from the dropped hero or buy an item for the dropped hero. The team may then control the dropped hero.
If all players' systems hang or the game cannot continue because the majority of the players within the same game experience a game hang, the referee can decide to restart the game or award a win to either team.

Saving of Game & Game crashes/Fatal error:
At the 30th minute mark, the game will be saved once for a back up save game. After the 30th minute mark every 15 minutes interval, the game will be saved for a back up save game. Head Marshal/ Marshals will have the right to ask players to save game during any period of the game.
Any game crash after 90 minutes will not be continued anymore and a decision will be made by the marshal of that match based on the replay of that match.
In the times of a game crash/fatal error, the referee's decision will be final. If the participant has any problems regarding the decision made by the referee, he/she can file a report to the organizers and it will be reviewed by the staff and referees.
A save game is outdated if since the save game;
- A tower/barrack has went down
- A total of 12 or more kills occurred . (Aegis charges lost count as kills)
- The net total kills changed by 4 or more. (Aegis charges lost count as kills)

The net total is the difference in kill score between both teams.
Examples:
An 11-4 score at the save leaves a net total difference of 7, a 11-8 score at the drop leaves a net total of 3. The net total went from 7 to 3, a change of 4, as such, the save is outdated.
A 20-16 score at the save leaves a net total difference of 4, a 26-22 score at the drop leaves a net total of 4. The net total stayed at 4; however 12 kills happened since the save, as such, the save is outdated.
A 5-3 score at the save leaves a net total difference of 2, a 12-7 score at the drop leaves a net total of 5. No towers/barracks were downed. The net total went from 2 to 5, 11 kills happened since the save, as such, the save is valid.

If the most recent save game is outdated, the normal disconnect rules apply.
If the most recent save game is valid, the dropped players team can choose to reload from the save game if they so desire.

Penalty for Unfair Play:
1) Use of any map hack program
2) Intentional disconnection
3) Use of any settings exceeding standard and permitted settings
4) If the match is disrupted due to unnecessary chatting, the player may be given a warning or lose by default at the referee's sole discretion.
Upon discovery of any player committing any violations regarded as unfair play, that player will be disqualified from the tournament.
During the course of any match, the operations staff and/or referee may determine other actions to be unfair play at any time.
Three warnings constitute being disqualified from the tournament.

These rules are for the WCG 2007 Asian Championship and are subject to modification in the following aspects:
- Use of most recent patch/version release of each official game within organizer's own discretion.
- In-game settings and required factors necessitated by use of most recent patch version/release
- Cheat Protection Program release and/or cheat protection functions
- Game settings and/or operations guidelines dictated by differences between online and LAN tournament

Due to a series of unfortunate events that happened at the top , the community's best hope of anything that resembles a respectable qualifiers lies in this ad-hoc plan to do one that fairly represents the Dota community right now.

After confirmation has been got from some top brass meetings at Thursday evening, we found out some cold hard truth :

1. Its impossible to do it at Saturday and Sunday as it clashes with SMM Penang Qualifiers.
2. ACG authorities has given us till Tuesday to come up with a name to represent Malaysia for ACG this year.

Facing such interesting scenarios, our only hope is to do a mini tournament at Monday Evening that consists only of the top-16 best teams we could think off and invite them 1 by 1 to join in.
The 18 teams listed (sorry for not listing your team if your team is not in it) are the teams we feel worthy of taking up a spot in this qualifier. Subject to teams availability , we may not have the full 16 teams in yet. The final list of participants will be reviewed right before the whole event started. So if your team is worthy and willing to fork out RM 100 to join in this event , do give Lim a call. But be advised , teams who call-in and got their spots will most likely be seeded quite low and will most likely face the likes of Ct-1 and mKvL which are the higher seeds at earlier rounds when we are doing the brackets.


A summary of the ACG rules :

1. Normal -ap draft 1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1 will be used.
2. No hero limitations . Bristleback is not banned from the draft.
3. No item limitation . Your team can buy 5 euls if you want to.
4. No control sharing.
5. No transfer of ANY items between teammates. If you are caught transfering even a ward , an aegis or a cheese , You are eligible for a STRAIGHT DISQUALIFICATION.

Teams are expected to read and understand the rules fully before joining in this event.

I am not sure if that is exactly a fact you are stating. As far as I know , this year's ACG at Singapore only allows 1 representative from each country. A total of 12 countries are invited which means only 12 teams can participate in this year's edition of ACG Dota.
Perhaps Lim can update you guys with more info when he returns to KL from the just concluded SMM Penang Qualifiers.

then u can straight away go sg n register to play qualifier in sg to obtain a ticket into acg group stage

thats y you can c a lot of sg team in the group stage
but dunno this year got change or not

Mostly SMM state qualifiers have chances to join the match tmr. U can call Lim if there is any space that is still available for any other teams and it is subject to availability only. It is limites space because we need to finish all the match tmr so we hope you all will understand our situation. sweat.gif

Just one question, why is it teams that are interested in participating need to pay the rm100 registration fees, you said that the team that won will be fully sponsored by SMM and In2, and I don't see any reason why any registration fees are needed here since you guys wont give out any prizes in terms of cash and trophy. 18 teams, thats a total of rm1800. Do you mind to explain how this rm1800 will be use to fund the qualifier? Cybertime being one of the biggest lanshop in Malaysia and being the sponsor of the best team around are not willing to fork up some of the pcs to held a qualifier?

That is a total joke. Unless you tell us that the money will be use to pay the marshall who will be very dedicated to host the event. Plus another point is why arent any other teams allowed to join this qualifier? I remember there are another quite decent cybertime team around, and I dont see them in the list. The fact is, if you are charging rm100 per team, then it should be open to public, correct me if I'm wrong, I just think that this qualifier is out of the point where it had been too commercialized instead of for the well being of the community.

Learn how to read properly please, he did not state there that only teams that are not in the top 18 list needs to pay, I got a friend in Mkvl and they said they also need to pay rm100, at least I checked my facts, but did you?

You miss out on the part where they said this qualifier is by INVITATION only, just read and understand the phrase which means those who are worthy still need(willing) to fork out rm100. doh.gif
