That's right. Portability is very important on the move. I've been listening to dock+amp for quite sometimes. One day I just bring my iPod alone without those extras and I can't listen to it for more than 5 minutes. I don't hate it but I just don't find any enjoyment in how it sounded so I got bored. All songs sounded flat even with my x3i.

Sony 2GB NWD-B105F. Surprisingly satisfying SQ even with supplied earphone. Don't go for iPod Shuffle lol

it's hard to make a general list. everyone has different taste of audio signature. some prefer samsung, some sony, some cowon and while some apple(with mod)

i am currently studying abroad and going back to m'sia soon. i am looking for mp3 player and i am wondering is the sony NWZ A820 series and the samsung YP-P2 available in m'sia? and how much they are priced?

comparing to the 2 players above, which one is more worth it? any other recommendations?

sony A820? i guess u either in US or Japan. if Japan, go for P2 since A820 japanese model still tied to sonicstage IIRC. else both players are good. among the best sounding flash player. dont forget cowon D2 too.

D2 and P2 are both touchscreen.

P2 selling rm8xx here. A820 no sure, if not mistaken, not even launched yet here

i am in the UK actually. so i really cant decide which player to go for. price wise samsung player is cheaper, but the sony player come with free bluetooth headphone. and i heard that sony have the best sound quality. guess i still need to do some surveys.

sony has good sound but not very good. they have tweaked the sound of their played to sound nice. usually more bass. samsung and cowon are more neutral.

P2 also support bluetooth but imho, stick with wired earphone for best audio quality. ditch the stock earphone and get a better one to justify ur future player

after going through more info, the P2 is looking betta and betta. might be getting it. the firmware update reli make it look superb.
