Guys I need a 5.1 speaker but have little idea on which brand & model offer a good balance between quality & price. Would it be better to get a PC 5.1 or home theater speakers?

I used to have a 2.1 Logitech which was not bad but i never bought a 5.1 before. I don't mind if the model is old as long as it is good @ quality & price.

Those new Logitech 5.1/2.1 are totally out of my budget (for a set of pc speakers).

Also is it easy to connect the PC to a normal amp to a 5.1 system?

You can pair 5.1 computer speaker with on board sound card or expansion card for better quality of sound.
If you pair home theater speaker or amp with computer, you need buy other sound card like asus xonar d2 (example only) that have the digital S/PDIF output.

My old school Altec Lansing ACS45.1 is nyawa-nyawa ikan now due to lightning strike...which busted my AVR (!!!), LCD, PSU and mobo. Good thing RAM and CPU are not affected. Dead broke now after buying so many new components.

So a question for all the experts, what would you guys/gals recommend for a 2.1 speaker around RM300-RM500? Preferably digital... tongue.gif
