enzo 6000 and 7000 have external amp. and from the pic the 7000 has optical input. since its similar, try check on enzo 6000 as well.

the RCA input, dunno, ask sonic gear users...
and for the RCA cable (not clip) u can easily bought them at DIY shops to extend length.

i think enzo6000 or 7000 suits u since ur in low budget.

read this:

QUOTE(redframelowyat @ Apr 11 2009, 12:14 PM)
sosodef, for me the enzo7000 itself a expensive speaker compared with other speaker class, but if you compared it with other digital speaker of other brands you will find that enzo7000 is the cheapest digital speaker compared to logitech especially.

now if you buy enzo7000, you will get a set of mini home theater at a price rm480. the external control tower itself able act as decoder for dolby digital and dts. have one optical input and spdif in for best quality sound transfer, 5 analog input for DVD, 3.5 in and out jack. accidentally you will having a decoder+small amplifier for a price at below 500. its very rich in connectivity.

not only that, the sub woofer is 80watt, the most powerful sub in the sonic gear line. the total power for enzo7000 is 180 watt.

now if you want to spend on enzo just take he enzo 7000, its worth of your money for the extra rm100 you paid for.

just to remind you, if yo want to buy the enzo7000, it is better if you find a shop that is selling it at rm480 below. i bought it at rm530, not knowing the market price at that time is already rm480. i was ripped off!!

i think he compares it to the E6000. so the e6000 should cost about 380.
cable? u can get it at diy shop, normal cable (non-audiophile grade) wont cost u so much.

no, each cable fot 2 for positive and negative.
all speaker cables are 2way, means got 1 positive and 1 negative.

u buying enzo 6000 right? u check the satellites use clip or RCA.
also check the connection from amp. inform here what is the connection type.
better still, take picture of everything. no picture no idea.

i assume the sonic gear are using RCA-RCA cables to their satellites.
cause most probably it is...

so u just go to diy shop, said u want to make RCA-RCA cables. a pair.
then u say how long u wan. finish liao. wont be so expensive.

rca to rca? then if the speaker mount on the wall wont it will be weird? the rca jack will push part of the speaker against the wall hmm.gif

then how about the input? the input there got center, sub, Fr, Fl, Sr, and sl hmm.gif

but since it got optical i dont think i have to worry much on the input
*
cant say much, either it is rca to rca, or rca to clip. the best is, u just buy the speaker first, and talk about the wall-mounting later...
cause if u dun buy, there are no pictures to imagine.

u can ask the shop about the wallmount or ask fellow enzo users first.

u need to buy female-to-female rca connector.
user posted image

then u buy another RCA-RCA cable. so on the other end of the connector, u can connect it to your subwoofer.

how is z4 performance?the high n the mid? unsure.gif
*
i dont like the "passive radiator" scheme for Z4.
just take a look, it only has a 4" subwoofer, and uses like 8" passive subwoofer to make it looks powerful.
the satellites, also uses only 1 2" full/midrange driver. where the 2 units above and below are also passive driver.

so meaning, u're buying it for passive driver everywhere... performance wise, not so sure, but dun think as good as M3300 in high and mid.

guys.. im gonna buy a AL MX5021. is it recommended and value for its price? thanks

and also what sound card u guys recommend to match it perfectly? thanks again!!
*
used to be recommended. but since the "cut-cost" scheme begins, hmmm...

i can only recommend Edifier S530D, AEGO M, or Klipsch GMX for the Altec MX5021 range...

i did not have the links back to the "altec fanclub" here in LYN.
but simply put, the older batch are better, i heard them myself.

visually, its very easy to differentiate them. just take a look at these:

for me, i can hear the clarity is there, for the old stock, as well as the lower bass punch, when cranked

but since sounds are pretty subjective, and i tested them at different shops, using different songs... i'd say sometimes it's not noticeable...

possible, but doesnt sound nice, because it's designed for different purpose.
but yes, you can "design" it so it becomes better.
at least the speaker can be used, but the amp, need to do some conversion.

oh of course u need amp. what to power the speaker if it aint called amp?

the problem is not the "design" itself, but u need to build your room, to make it sounds as good as home speakers.

remember, car spk are engineered and designed for cars. while for home vice-versa. and there are alot of things to consider when designing them.

you see, its not the wood that affect it. its the speaker itself.

the car speaker are designed to be used in car, and designed to be used with car audio enclosure. if you still want to use them at your house, it will work, but it doesnt even sound as nice as in the car. unless youre very lucky.

it's like girl using boy shirt. can work, but not nice isnt it.

i will say, mx5021 and s530d is in different class of price range...
despite im used to see them in sg, means im seeing sg pricetag.

i;d say, those with limited budget will most probably choose MX5021.
the thing that doesnt make me bought it (almost) is the cut cost thing.

yes. but for some it may be unnoticeable though.

i;d suggest u to use "front panel" in desktop, they are designed to do that. what is your soundcard?
