I have a 2015-Mid 15" Macbook Pro. The battery needs replacing (service message). Happy to replace myself and purchase the parts of Shopee but from the videos, it doesn't look like it's a simple process. Where can I find a computer shop that can replace this with decent batteries?

seen youtube.. apple store usually recomend buy new unit. and will charge a bomb.. for any kinda of replacement..

Apple store can replace battery for MacBook certainly. Just that replacing battery involves changing other parts together so it maybe more expensive but confirm can change battery. Who says must change the entire macbook?

like car.. brake leather need replace only.. they change suspension and tyre for u also..

u can always youtube.. how apple treat repair needed customer like water fish

i would rather be safe than sorry. third party especially battery can raise safety concern.

Its totally unsafe using any cheaper type oem battery . mind you I had a friend change it after 2 months the battery bloated and damage the trackpad . the trackpad located right above the battery . he end up spending 500 + 800 for both .

If change in machine, RM880, they change whole lower box case, battery and keyboard.

I change it last month , but mine due to keyboard problem. It come with the package.

I have a 2014 Macbook Air. It's been a while 6months i never use it and i stored it inside the box.
Took out last week and realized there's a service icon at the battery menu i think just like yours

I'm still unsure where to get a genuine battery replacement done. I live in Subang Jaya.

I replaced my Mid 2015 MBP battery myself. You just needs the right tools. Try not to follow the "official" steps of replacement, it requires you to dismantle the whole lower case including motherboard.

Looks for fishing line method (Google/Youtube it), where you drop some sticker removal under the battery glue and cut the glue using fishing line. Much easier and less chance of damaging the rest of the components due to disassembly.

I guess I m still good, my battery can still last 5 hours on a single charge.

They're great, couple of years back my battery was showing Check status and they advised me to use until Replace Now status

Flash forward to middle of this year went in to change my sata flex cable and battery there and they swapped out a few of my weathered out keys FOC

Only charge when the battery reaches 30% or lesser.

Avoid continue charging when the battery is 100%.

Use apple original charger, don't use 3rd part charger.

You can use Apple web site to locate authorised supports and find location closer to you. I just dropped mine off Itworld@pj By Sns Network (M) Sdn Bhd. They are the premium Apple support, probably the only one in KL? Anyway, they will replace my MBP battery and keybroad free of charge despite out of warranty. It's under recall.

Different recalls on both. Early version of butterfly keyboard has recall on potentially stuck key. The other is swollen battery which has reported on some certain airlines will not let you bring onbroad unless you have letter of proof that the battery been replaced. My unit has swell battery and I have been received emails from Apple prompted me to replace the battery as well.

i taught they will change my macbook 12 battery also

I am sure they will but it ain't free unless it's under recall. But having the Apple premium support center do the replacement gives you peace of mind of part authenticity. Could give them a call to ask about part and labor cost.

FYI,

My 2017 15 MBP battery replacement came back in 4 biz days. Drop off last week Wednesday and got the call Yesterday (Monday) early morning. IT World is fast! and they replaced the keyboard as promised. Premium vendor got my vote.

I guess my cheap battery are not original but it servicing ok so far.
Try ask around, the labour are not expensive also.
