looking as how huge the bundle is for GH2 and 2 big boxes shipped to gamer's hideout, i wonder how the heck is this gonna be bundled? I'd definitely go for the game+fender+mic+drums bundle and i'm expecting it to be at least 700 bucks. There goes my delicious meals and here comes my maggi for the next 3-4 months.

the first time i got my pc i was playing nfs 3 hotpursuit..then bought 2 and 1..then 4 high stakes, then 5 porsche unleased, then hotpursuit 2, then underground, then underground 2, then MW then Carbon now PS......thats why i love NFS SERIES..

what I hate was, scare they come out the game..
then maybe.. ask you to buy accessories (Drums/guitar/mic) seperately only. so adds up together = Super Expensive only. |

"We could not have "cancelled" an Asian release of Rock Band, as we have never announced a version to be released in Asia. I'm sorry for the confusion. Sincerely, John Veneron Production Assistant - Community Harmonix Music Systems "  don't fret (pardon the subtle pun) guys. i already replied asking about the UK release..and asking about the region lock. also told him that although our community does not make it up in numbers to validate an asian release, we still hope that the UK release would not be region locked. hopefully he and the harmonix team understands our love for this game. |

damn... i have no choice but to buy the ps3 version then. i got a guitar hero controller on 360 but now that asian release wont be out / not announced, i wont be able to use the extra controller on ps3. plus, guitar hero controller wont work with rock band in ps3. boo hoo.

Anyway, it's for the XBOX360." I just asked her if by chance she knows that it's gonna be an Asian release or it's the US release. as posted before, i got an official response from Harmonix. they said that they never planned for an Asian release at all, so technically, there's no such thing as a 'cancelled' asian release.
which is why i have been spamming them with emails asking for a free region release, cos we asians WANT our rock band so badly!! i even contacted the person in charge of singapore events, where they actually listed a rock band launch event later this month..but even she said it's not confirmed. and to date, no response from her on the version that is being launched. she just said it is for the xbox 360...but dunno what region. |

For those who are interested in Rock Band...
here is my brief review on the PS3 version since there might not be any Asian version of the 360 ones coming...hopefully there is.. i am a loyal xbox360 supporter but for this game i have no choice to get the PS3 version. sorry i posted here instead of PS3 Rock Band thread cause the PS3 thread is not that happening and i just love the 360 forum  and much of the user's here was interested on Rock BandHere is the Box :  Whole set unpack :  The Stratocaster-The guitar part in this game is almost similar to the ones in Guitar Hero 2 and 3, only it has 10 buttons in total. 5 Buttons above and 5 smaller buttons below near the body. Those button can act the same in normal notes or solos...the difference is if you want to feel more realistic while playing those finger flaming solos...you can utilies the lower 5 buttons,seriously i tried that and it feels good . The lower 5 buttons enables you to play fast flowing solo notes more easier as it is near all together and smaller buttons.One thing is the took away the tilting guitar star power action, to a normal auto initialize Star Power sort. The strumming bar also is a bit difference this time.  10 buttons!  Everyone's favourite-The drum set. The drum set comes with a pair of drum stick, drum (4 color pads and a foot pedal) as for the gameplay for Drums, it's not that easy as it looks...but after awhile it would be okay if you know the song and its beat. The feel and sensitivity of the Drums are just perfect to play.  Pair of Ludwig Rock Band drum sticks :  The one that all the vocalist aiming for : The Mic Tried the Mic...umm still not sure how is the scoring is done cause i just suk at singing...but dont worry, there is Subtitle for every song for the singer to follow to.  Gameplay screenies using the mic  Thucking away the mic from Firearms5 and Jaylike...better dont let them see it if not my house will hancur and my neighbours will throw rubbish at me...  just kidding this review is just for those who really interested on Rock Band and thinking of going to the Dark side for it... but i would suggest to wait for the 360 Asian edition if there is one, cause for me PS3 really not games to play now and the online function is just early stage of development(you know what i mean).The online function can really make people sometimesThis post has been edited by Syuji: Jan 22 2008, 10:21 AM |

couldn't resist the game la...but this game really have to have a lot of friends to play with..then i would be more fun. there is a problem, if you guys are thinking of getting one for the PS3, the PS3 must be 60gb or 80gb version above cause 40gb PS3 only has 2 USB ports, Rock Band Needs at least 3 to use all the equipment together(mic,guitar,drum)not including Bass. mine only got 2 so the mic have to be forfeited most of the time nvm la guys, maybe there is an Asian version after all. waiting for it wont cause harm cause more and more games are coming out very soon. |

Anyways I think buying a ps3 will be good. Blu-Ray etc + finally I'll have to buy Ori games. And of course, online is free. |

I don't think Rock Band will work on an Asian console. The region lock on both PAL and NTSC/UC doesn't permit them to. That's why we don't have any Rock Band sets for 360 here in MY.
If any of the versions of RB worked on our consoles, I'm pretty sure GH would've brought it in by now. |

it's a shame that after a year that we still don't have rock band. i don't think we'll ever see rock band2 in our shores. at least there's guitar hero world tour.

yeah,it's been confirmed that all instruments will work together.
for example,Rock Band instruments work with World Tour and Rock Revolution World Tour instruments work with Rock Band and Rock Revolution Rock Revolution instruments work with Rock Band and World Tour but imo,the rock revolution drums look like crap.i like the rock band ones best,but the guitar hero ones are cool too |

whatever it is, i'll let GH experiment first. as far as i know, only the new ones are inter-compatible. no confirmation for RB1's compatibility yet. if they do, muahahaha... i'll be spending a LOT of money on MS points. RB DLC ftw!

no,they have confirmed the old RB1 controllers to work with world tour.it's the rb2 ones they're not sure of.
because they're not given permission to have an early copy of the instruments,but i'm sure one of the staff members just casually bought rock band to experiment and build into world tour. so i'm just going to say this once from what was confirmed at E3: ROCK BAND 1 INSTRUMENTS WORK WITH GUITAR HERO WORLD TOUR DAMN IT i rest my case.you'll see me waiting in line for rock band,maybe. |

i'm just telling you this in advance,it's gonna feel really strange.having world tour's track compress from 5 to 4 tracks makes the game feel more like rock band,but rock band's tracks just don't change.
it'll feel uneven,having to fit 5 into 4 tracks.you'll be stuck with on button for one track,so i heard. for example,run to the hills on expert.you hit the yellow ones in the beginning,then the tom to the right,right? if it were on guitar hero drums,you might set it to yellow being the left cymbal,but that messes it up. after the intro,when the fast mashing on the hi-hat starts,the hi-hat changes from yellow to red. therefore,you will start hitting the guitar hero snare for hi hat,and the left cymbal for snare. you get how this just confuses things? i'm just telling in advance,the guitar hero drums are awesome,just not good if you're gonna play rock band. I'm waiting for approval from local EA distro to release the Malaysian price but from what I heard, the instruments-only package is around RM 600-ish, close to 700 while the full blown package cost almost RM 900. Haven't got the news for other packages. Personally, I'm gonna get GH:WT and then get RB + RB2 stand-alone game. Dude can't blown RM 2k for just two games, mau makan apa nanti... |

and yes,it IS in fact an ntsc-j version. HOLY CRAP!! there's an asian version that is playable on our xboxes actually exists out there right now that could(if teleported to our houses) be immediately played!! shouldn't be much,except for maybe the talky bits.

Yeah, I tried out the headset. Not sure if it's my setup, but there's quite a noticeable delay and really screws up my timing. Tried all the settings, but that didn't help.

i think it changed,because i get cash vouchers and stuff and i got the instrument pack and the game. dlc for rb1 = dlc for rb2 so if you bought dlc for rb1,it will show up for rb2,and vice versa. rb2 is basically an update to rb1.nothing completely dramatic,just some bells and whistles. think of it as guitar hero 2 was to guitar hero 1,but almost absolutely no changes in the scoring system(not 100% sure,i think there is no difference.but they're different games,so...) |

The instruments in RB1 and RB2 the same? no.a BIG no.specifically the drums,everything has improved in the rock band 2 bundle. the 360 strat now is wireless,and has a new paint job. the microphone is......the exact same thing. the drums are now wireless and less noisy.the pads are made of rubber.and the bass pedal is reinforced with metal. you can import rb2 bundle and buy rb1 here.it may cost a bit to ship it through though |

Rock Band 2 is not out in Asia.Not even just the game.I would've gotten that long ago if it was out >_> Yeah,you can import the RB2 instruments if you had the money and post box big enough to fit King Kong in there.They will work with RB1(this is why my compatibility thread needs to be bumped )LE drum kit? That's the 3rd party ION drum rocker. Though,there are add-on cymbals you can put for the RB2 set,but won't work for the RB1 set. Yes,it is,but it's considered cheating.
What you do is go get a 3.5mm jack splitter,find an extra Rock Band pedal(or any 3.5mm jack pedal for that matter) and plug your two pedals in. But honestly,it all can be done with one foot with enough practice(...And Justice for All though is just plain impossible). Yes,Rush.The entire Moving Pictures album is out as DLC,but I only bought Red Barchetta and YYZ. Still,AWESOME!! |

i blame GH rather the Wii. But, its more about imitations. if it works, businesses would just keep going through it. In the end, we either buy it or not.
But they had better give us an option to play with standard controllers also. That way, no problems with instruments. |

I think the main draw about this new game is that since there are already quite a few GD songs on RB, you will be able to export songs to RB or RB2.

you only get the usb mics included in the bundles for guitar hero world tour onwards and ofc rock band. So you don't get a mic with gh3.

No, Lego Rock Band can only play songs that are kid friendly.
I.E. Don't expect for a Lego David Bowie to be singing Metallica's Ride The Lightning. |
