That's pretty bad. Check your battery stats and see what app is draining your battery overnight.

Sigh, that's why I'm gonna miss my OP7 Pro, bro. Went to bed 100% and wake up 7-8 hours later with 97-98% remaining with all settings left on.

It’s one of the the reasons why I hesitated to pull the trigger yesterday - for the fear that the experience won’t be much different compared to my S10+ ownership experience - with the added S-Pen of course.

What r ur settings?
I hv to go extra miles to off a lot of things.
No AOD, FHD+, put less frequent apps into sleeping list...
*
Haha, yeah, I remember this - Switch off GPS/Location, switch off Sync, switch off this and that before going to bed, haha... the good ol' days...

QUOTE(TOMEI-R @ Sep 10 2019, 09:24 PM)
Simple, it means Oxygen OS better manages its ram and battery usage making it a more refined OS. Users dont have to go through the trouble of uninstalling apps, turning off features etc to make battery usage more bearable. Samsung Experience still has a lot to improve on these areas.
*
I can't help but wonder if the SD version would be a bit more power efficient on usage and battery drain compared to the Exynos ones though. Guess I'll never get a chance to test for myself laugh.gif

Yes. SD will be more efficient and less power hungry compared with Exynos. It also performs better overall but I'm not going to bring this topic in here because 99% of users here are on Exynos.
*
Looks like I won't be trying the Note 10+ after all, bro. Who knew Apple would launch so early in Boleh land this round...

Need opinion from samsung phone users....

I am using iPhone every since 3GS and currently using iPhone 6+, I wanna give note10+ a try however I have few concerns.

Apple is like a love/hate relationships, features and software is so restricted but yet the IOS is so smooth and software support is up to 5 years. My iPhone 6+ still run so smooth.

On other android got so many customisation , basically can do so many things however I always hear ppl say android lags after 1-2 years also I know that Samsung software update normally up to 2 generation of phones only.

In the my concern, can samsung phones last....
What do you guys think and advice?
*
New Android devices, especially flagships, run very smooth. The days of Android phones lagging are probably behind us now. I'm pretty sure any Android phone you buy these days will last you 1-2 years without lags so don't listen too much to what people say.

Software updates, on the other hand, is an entirely different matter. This year marks the end of support for your iPhone 6+, which is a 2014 phone. The same 2014 flagship phones for Samsung were the S5 and Galaxy Note 4. So if you plan to use your new phone for at least 5 years and timely software updates are important to you, then I'm afraid you'll have to stick to the iPhone path. If the love/hate relationship with iOS drives you nuts (and believe me I know how that feels) and you think you wanna try Android, your best bet for timely software updates for Android will probably be the Google Pixel range or the OnePlus range.

*
True too. I’m too lazy and also too chicken sh*t to root my devices though, hehe...

mind to explain root?

i never use android phonebe4
*
It’s sort of the equivalent of jail breaking your iPhone. More details here.

Is this a good price for Note 10+ right now? My friend wanna buy it and I thought I can help save some money through my company's Employee Purchase Program as he was planning to buy through Maxis, which needs him to add one more sub line and upgrade his current plan.
*
Yup, good price. I think the maxis one to add a supplementary line is only required if he wants to buy 2 units of the Note 10 for one price. If it's just one unit or for the Note 10+, then no need a supplementary line, but if not mistaken you'll need to be on the MOP 128 as a minimum.

I just bought a snapdragon 855 variant of Galaxy Note 10+ and my first impression it is significantly snappier than my other note 10+ (MY unit).

I will still use both units since I wont be able to sell my exynos note 10+ until I get back to KL on Wednesday. So I hope this 1 day i'll be able to test if there is any noticeable difference between our exynos 9825 and sd855 in daily usage.
*
Nice! Do observe the battery consumption particularly in standby - I read that the SD is far more efficient than the Exynos in that regard too but haven’t had any opportunity to test the claim.

He's on 128, so I think he was misinformed by the Maxis staff. I think he's gonna go for Maxis now. Thanks for clarification.
*
For Note 10+ on a 128 plan, then he just needs to pay 3199 for the phone. To be honest, that’s just RM400 difference from the staff price you can get so if he doesn’t want to be tied down on a contract or want to save his contract renewal for other phones in the future, your offer to him is still pretty attractive!

Dia nak yang boleh installment lama-lama to lower his monthly commitment. My offer guna Maybank card can only get 12 months. That's why I think upon knowing the new information, he's sliding into Maxis more and more.
*
Thing is kalau dia nak bayar instalment with maxis, he has to take the Zerolution or Zerolution 360 plan, and those generally not much discount on the phone. E.g. for Zerolution he needs to pay RM159 per month x 24 = RM3,816. Zerolution 360 is a leasing plan so he pays two years but the phone isn’t his to keep, so that’s a no go too. His best bet with maxis is to buy on contract, pay full and then convert the credit card balance to monthly instalments with the bank smile.gif

my company always have this staff price for samsung...

rm700 rebate biggrin.gif

Actualy i can get it and then sell it off.... even i give rm200 discount for buyer.. still untung 500. can also collect CC cashback/points too biggrin.gif
*
Problem with that plan is the online price with discount during sale is quite close to your staff price di. During 9.9 sale the Note 10+ 256GB went as low as RM3,689. So you need to list outside of sale period smile.gif

QUOTE(emino @ Sep 17 2019, 09:37 AM)
Convert installment with bank usually ada a bit of interest or handling fee tho.
*
No choice lor if your buddy needs longer instalment period.

Gosh, those are very big differences! It’s like a totally better user experience. Why would anyone wanna buy the Exynos version now? Hehe...

QUOTE(fakerdemit @ Sep 17 2019, 10:28 AM)
off topic question here - for Zerolution plan, do you keep paying both (device+plan) amount after 24 months? or just pay the plan amount only? Their T&C doesn’t say anything about this.
*
You pay device+plan for 24 months, then on he 25th month onwards, you just pay for the plan.

for me warranty & peace of mind is the  main and most important reason. if u dont mind about it, then should consider getting sd855 variant.

as for now, i'm at 6 hours 20 mins SOT, and i still have 31% battery left. even my exynos note 10+ (now become my secondary phone, i dont use it as frequent as my main phone), is at 45% battery with just 3 hours 5 mins SOT.
*
Ya, which is why I mentioned I wouldn’t be able to test a SD version of Samsung’s flagships ever coz I don’t dare buy one without official SME warranty biggrin.gif

actually me too. but all this while i've been using import phones from Google, LG and so on, so after days of considering, i just said to myself this time, why not samsung?  laugh.gif
*
My last imported phones were a pair of Hong Kong dual sim iPhones last year, but never tried LG or Pixels. Even my ex OP7 Pro was official MY set smile.gif

Too bad we'll have to trade local warranty for the SD experience with Samsung flagships.

You will get use to it. The drain in note 10+ worst then s10+. That's why they need to give you the super fast charge  bangwall.gif
*
Considering the battery is bigger and the chipset is supposedly more efficient, this is rather surprising.

Hmm... seems like the SD version not only trumps the Exynos version on the battery department and overall fluidity but also having better network modems. Looks like many here would have sleepless nights thinking of changing their Note 10 to the SD version.
*
Or many others would have second thoughts about buying an Exynos powered Samsung flagship moving forward smile.gif
That said I’m still not adverse to trying our local Note 10+ some day smile.gif

QUOTE(workhard1010 @ Sep 19 2019, 05:05 PM)
typical how long would you guys hold on samsung phone? ideally how many years would it last

i know iPhones users tend to use it at least 3 years.
*
I’ve been buying Samsung phones just to try lately, all used for less than a couple of months. The longest I guess would be my Note 3 previously, which lasted close to two years before some overheating issues.
