Does this apply to the previous citi45 as well or just future? Coz I have the amount pending in my shopback currently.

If pending, I guess they will retract it once they find out. cry.gif

Yoh guys, E495, E595 and T495 is back in action from the recent ridiculous markup, it’s time to pull the trigger!!!

P/S: E495 is seeing the cheapest price tag ever, 3500u with 4GB RAM priced at under RM2.1k, that’s even cheaper than NIGHT/45CITI. But the sad part is they increased the 3 years PRO warranty from RM1 to RM299.

coincidentally, i was doing the same thing, i was comparing with your page 1 screen shot. and found that it is indeed similar priced.

i only have 2 question.

1. buy now or wait for citi45 ( applied the card last week  doh.gif  )
2. get wwan or not ( rm400 extra roughly)

3. have you got this? from lenovo, thinkplus, 65w tiny charger. about rm120.

The power of CITI45 is that all the upgrades are also at 45% off. Meanwhile current price is comparable too as the base price is far cheaper.

So unless you’re planning to max up on all the specs like WWAN, 400nits screen, 512GB SSD & ETC, current price is not losing much (if any) as compared to CITI45.

Back on my point, I personally feel like WWAN is redundant, as almost everyone having smartphones with hotspots function nowadays. It’s also wasteful to purposely apply another internet plan for your laptop alone, which will see more limited use than say a phone.

For charger, I recommend UGREEN 65W, I bought one before and in the recent 9.9 bought another as it’s too cheap, RM60++. My priority is to get those with UK 3 pins plug as it’s more convenient to use in Malaysia where most wall sockets are for 3 pins. But like benefon suggested, if you’re bringing a travel adaptor with you on the go, 2pins with foldable pins do appear more minimalistic.

good point. no reason to waste rm400 for a wwan when i can just get a cheap power bank Rm40 and use my phone as hotspot. not like im using laptop working in starbucks  laugh.gif

thanks, let me check ugreen 65w
*
The problem with WWAN is not only about the extra initial cost (RM400+, you can already buy a low end smartphone dedicated as a hotspot machine for that matter), but also on you need a separate data plan apart from your main phone data plain. It brings more inconveniences than conveniences. I will only recommend it for those ppl who use their laptop for business purposes, especially at oversea/remote areas.

alright, should not skimp on this. screen is the whole purpose of a laptop
*
Exactly what I felt, screen (and it’s robustness) is always first on my priority when getting any digital devices.

But then, in this case, those additional RM450++ is not something useful enough for most ppl. So if you decide to go this path of getting the 400nits display, better wait for CITI45 as the 45% discount will bring down the price of those additional upgrades more than current 25% offer.

Current E495, E595 & T495 offer price are good to those who don’t want to topup too much on the laptop.

The effective discounted price of those devices are at RM2k-2.2k. After some minimum upgrades like change the ryzen to 3500u and getting a basic FHD screen, the price should still be under RM2.5k, thus cheaper still as compared to CITI45 (which they will jackup 99 the minimum price).

When oversea, the biggest worry is the frequency/band.

The one currently priced at RM89.99, need wait for big sale events they will lower down the price.

Then I really don’t know what’s they targeted audience for the WWAN card liao, LOL.

Highly doubted so, current MALAYSIA code is on par with NIGHT code last time. Unless they pull us a national day special markup then markdown sale like for SG last month, this will be what it is till tomorrow.

A basic specs and little warranty T495 now is a steal.

If you hand itchy to upgrade the screens and bigger RAM/storage, wait month end for CITI45.

Alternatively, E495/595 is also all time lowest price. Grab the basic specs, swap out the HDD to 256GB SSD and apply shop back. It should be just a tad over RM2k, and you got a very potent machine that supports USB C charging some more.

Thinkapad X395 or T495
*
Hey bro, I’m a bit torn between T590 (last month CITI45 price) and T495 (assumably coming soon CITI45 price).

T590 is good because it’s 15.6”, with numpad, come with one Thunderbolt3 (all be it only X2) port and 3 years + battery warranty at RM1 each. The cons are the screen options are mediocre, only have 8GB RAM onboard (unless you topup all the way to i7 8665u VPRO, LOL) and all upgrades (storage/RAM) are far costlier than T495.

T495 win in term of the plenty of screen selections, APU (consume less power than Intel+Nvidia), 16GB soldered RAM with just 3500u (instead of only top most specs), wifi card is not soldered and upgrades are cheap (after CITI45). The cons include lack of TB3 port (less futureproof and obsolete real fast after USB4 come out), somehow throttled performances and the warranty cost extra RM299.

I searched round the net and yet found any reviews or even informations regarding the specs of the 16GB onboard RAM for T495. Since it’s an APU system, every little bit of improvement on RAM can translate into better system performance. Wondering if you know anyone with 16GB/32GB RAM T495 around which I can refer to?

To be honest T590 is good machine but bad on display.
You will regret about 45% gamut Color.
Vomit when you needs doing some photo editing.
From point of view About TB3 really suck, if you do connect your eGPU.

Windows still not stable like Apple.
At least no issue to connected all time.

For your case go for T495 with 400nits display with 16gb ram save your trouble.
*
I feel like I needs T590 more (numpad, intel, nvidia, TB3, cheap warranty) but my feeling more inclined to T495 as it’s a better deal, better screen, bigger RAM, cheaper storage, more balanced build and power consumption <45W (easy to charge with PD power bank)... doh.gif

Yes, NOW is a 15% code (on P43s) unlike yesterday’s TECHSHOW which is a 18 or 20% code...

Lenovo really likes to play with the price...

Can they stop playing with the price and start giving us some totally irresistible deals already? Gen10 refresh is upcoming, we’re actually helping them to clear the Gen8 old stocks...

Important is important, but for me it’s not to the extend that it cost another 70% of the device price, LOLOLOL.

In other way of thinking, RM2k can buy semi-premium monitor already.

Easy to track, you will know their discount % by dividing the price with the “ori” price. Then you can see that currently P43s is downgraded to 15% discount, drop from 20 or 18% of yesterday.

This is for P53s, still at 20%, but the base price is higher than P43s.

how do you think? almost ultrabook like?

P53s is not bad, good price now compare with p43s ( but p53 screen not so nice)

No type-C charging and only one RAM slot, shamefur dispray.

More over, MSI PS42 is a better option if you can accept the dealbreakers above.

Except if it works on models that didn’t got markup due to CITI45, that code is good as useless as you’re paying 20% extra than CITI45 or generic codes.
