maybe just put it empty a while without battery few hour or a day and put battery back might work? i have experice like that where there a lego fire truck that come with sound and lighting , it was new but it doesn't work when prees button no light and sound then try to remove battery out let it be an hour for discharge. when put it back it work got light and sound.

Will be passing by Malacca a few weeks later, wonder if Gundam Mania is worth making a detour to grab some kits?

Oh very close. There are lots of hobby shop near u. just open google and look for it. U have ATT (might be a bit far, but they are one of the best), u have Gamers Arena (the best shop to buy gundam kit), u ahve the Hobby shop at Sunway Damansara.

But if u want to go to shop where the owner will help u, i suggest go to Hobby Shop Sunway Damansara, or ATT. Both bosses are very helpful.

but those are pretty old PG from almost 20 years back, are those still relevant today compared to modern kits?

I'm more of enjoying the process of assembling the gunpla than posing/modding the end results

yes but you need to maintain it, i think... i had 1 bought at japan, somehow didnt check properly and it was chipped at the middle.
but the cutting experience.... smooth like butter then after a while no longer butter smooth with more usage

RG crossbone titanium finish. RM200 so many until nobody picking it up.

RG crossbone clear, tak nampak a single unit. RM80 btw, a steal... but cant even steal. no stock at all.
