On Batman...

Northman... watched it last night... disappointed, i expected more. 2.5/5.

the film started with "AD 895"... i had thought it will be linked to the more well known vikings epics of ragnar lothbrok.

simple storyline, gory, violence, fiction, not historical... only nice thing is u get to see some great volcanic landscapes of Iceland.

the tv series Vikings, Last Kingdom, Valhalla were excellent.

I literally laughed when the new batman had to use a torchlight to find his way.... it's too dark even for the bat LOL

Unifi ultimate users just got their Disney+Hotstar app activated for free.

pretty good library - movies, tv series... MCU superheroes, X-men, Star Wars... + tv series, old and new, quite a lot.

newer ones are in 4k HDR, DD5.1; older ones a mix.

Users can only open Disney+ Hotstar using the box? Meaning it's not directly registered to us (that requires our phone number to login, etc)?

D+H is an android app, works best on an AndroidTV device, i.e. ATV tvs and boxes running on ATV.
Unifi boxes are many... the old silver, white cannot do apps; only the black UPB box running on ATV can.

So, if u hv an ATV tv like sony or sharp, that's the easiest way, don't need any box.
just install the app from tv playstore, log in with instructions shown... need yr mobile phone, of course.
Unifi ultimate users (need to register first) are entitled to D+H, Beinsports Connect, bbcplayer apps for free (or u can opt for other combinations).
Of course, u can also install unifitv app on the TV for all the live channels, forget about any old unifi box, no need.

This two directors is getting more and more crazy! 😜 Their direct movie I watch previously was "Swiss Army Man" which is also insanity.

watched it today.

it has no oomph... dark (as in black, dun let u see much), we see too much dark in batman.

flying, jumping, pounding the ground all over, we saw in any avenger, dc, matrix movie.

bad long teeth, skull heads, we saw in venom.

so, nothing new + weak plot = 2.5/5.

the ending alludes to a sequel with michael keaton returning as the villain from spiderman homecoming.



this is the flavor of the 2020s - multiverse... perfect for movie making, so clever...

allows all kinds of possibilities, alternate outcomes, resurrection, change characters, change character's behavior/actions change history, change anything at will!

another new flavor is to make it dark-black... saves energy, saves cgi, save so much work, reduce cost, directors can work less...wonderful!!

I just watched Morbius, I thought it was Batman + Vampire, lol

This film is at least 200% brighter than The Batman (2022). It is not dark, a very normal brightness film.
Did you accidentally tune your TV to 10% brightness?

By the way, this film is damn boring! 2/5 for me.

It seems will have 2nd episode or the next Spider-man film. Please make a better storyline and better effect on the skull, the skull is so ugly! The only effect I like is the fast move smoke effect.

it is not as dark-dim as batman but is dark still.

these new dim movies, watched in HDR, not so bad. the SDR versions are dim, many will hate it.


a new one coming... this remake will likely to be dark-dim, superhero is BLADE, a vampire.

in my mind, the worst ones were:

godzilla 2014 - this was the first one i noticed too dim, hated it.
arrival 2016 - filmmaker must hv decided aliens dun like light, need to be dark.
game of thrones final season 2019 - only the battle scenes were too dark, can't see who is fighting who.
godzilla vs kong 2021 - u can see kong clearly but not godzilla.
the batman 2022 - ok, i accept... next movie will be pitch black, more intermittent torchlight scenes.

apparently, filmmakers make them dark to "enhance the horror and suffering mood".

we have AVATAR 2, TERMINATOR 7 coming by year end.

it will be a shame if they r too dim to show the vibrant colors.

Environmental conscious, energy saving. Dark means less lighting used during filming, direct-lit LED TV save energy in dark scene, win win situation haha.
