OK, after the so-called upgrades that TM conducted which was supposed to be completed on the 2nd of July, my connection, which previously had a decent latency to WoW servers, turned bad.

Before today, the latency when playing WoW was always in the range of 200-400ms. Now, its fluctuates between 500-1000ms.

I am on a good IP in my area which is 218.208.*.*

Previously, I was getting quality connections to WoW like this. This is the trace route taken before the 2/7/07 upgrades from my house in Sentul, Jalan Ipoh, KL

I really, really hope this is just a temporary hiccup that will go away in time. Otherwise, I would have no more chance to enjoy WoW like I previously did. 1000ms is pretty much unacceptable.

guys, how good is this card? does it have any difference?

hmmm.... a new card won't get rid of your latency if there's what you're trying to ask.

might want to make another post to ask question on graphic cards instead.

doh.gif doh.gif call it a Myremi moment. happens a lot when i'm dizzy or my brain is multi-tasking too many things. info-flood, so to speak.

sorry joeboto. wah, expensive card. but suspicious since the price was cut by 50% on some retailers?

i had a good laff at this diagram on this website : http://www.pugetsystems.com/articles.php?id=31
sure makes it look nice but wondering how much can one see on an MMO? the only one i found quickly was this one ( http://swg.warcry.com/scripts/news/view_ne...te=13&id=65213) for WoW. looks impressive but these are US connections.

hmm...although yesterday, it seemed that connection was a lot better? i forgot to turn off addons for BGs and Arenas and there's no lag when entering them anymore? could just be me after suffering through my cousin's laggy s'pore line.

from what i notice, u guys are getting request time out from their side. could it be because its summer hols for them n their isps are swarmed with kiddies using the internet and playing wow? i know the queue times are back in my server, and i see a fluctuation of allies. yeah, theres a correlation between allies n kiddies.

deviladvent is right. although raiding out of Malaysia is not necessarily the best either. depends on the line you get and your gear setup.

the only complaint i had in US was when the Raid+Instance servers lag up. When it did, it was hell. But other than that, pretty smooth going.

I dunno if this helps, but here's what you guys can try. Download Morpheus Internet Accelerator from http://www.tucows.com/preview/241194 and install it. After installing it, run the program, go to the adapter tab and choose the current adapter you are using. Next, go to the Automatic tab and choose 1 of the methods of optimization. I find that method 4 works best for me. Restart ur pc n cross ur fingers.

For best results, leave ur router on and connected to the same ip and try the various optimization methods for ppoe till u find 1 that works best for you. Good luck.

it only asks u to upgrade or buy ashampoo, something like that la. just only need to config it few times till u find the optimum setting, then leave it be. btw, its not gonna speed up ur internet connection, but it may help with lag spikes.
