No need be creative. I lost my card twice due to misplace, I called them and very direct say I misplaced my card can't find. Tell them I want to cancel directly coz I don't want to pay replacement fees. Twice situation, the CS says they will replace FOC. I remember first time when they replace, they say 2nd time replacement will charge. 2nd time misplace, I say since first time misplace they say will charge on 2nd replacement, I'll just cancel it. Direct say nevermind, will put in replacement request FOC.
Why be creative. They need our business. They know I'm stingy fella also. Replacement fee they can decide, not like SST. Even SST, public bank openly give SST cash rebates.
I've misplaced cards sometimes can't find. End up, the other day I dig my stuffs, saw both cards hiding in my cabinet. Turns out, I just throw them into corner. Let me see. I've done this free replacements for maybank, public bank, SCB, affinbank.
SCB is because when I move down to KL, left my card in penang. Direct call SCB cancel. Immediately replace one for me, to collect at nearest SCB branch FOC. Affinbank bhpetrol is because the other day I balik hometown in November, petrol card left in hometown also when I balik KL. Direct told them I left the card in Penang. Since I can't go back again just for a card, and I worry if my parent courier and it got lost, I'll cancel the card. Haha again FOC.
