Wow! Sounds good as previously most of us got rejected upon requesting for SST rebate. Hopefully this is a new start hahaha... Else planning to cut some of the CCs prior next SST kicks in...

But then u wont meet the min spend of rm1000 cos rm250 on tnb is excluded as retail spend. Need TNB=250(e-com) + EW=1000(retail)
*
So this is more like 4% cashback... RM50 CB, min spend RM1250 in total but still better than the other campaign that offers RM50 CB, min spend RM2k...

I missed this minimum RM200 per transaction as mentioned here! From T&C I thought it could be accumulated and to get max RM50 CB, I just have to spend a total of RM600 in dining/grocery category, without realizing minimum spend is RM200!

QUOTE(leanman @ Aug 21 2024, 03:31 PM)
A little misleading, should not published it that way, sounded like a permanent thingy.

Agreed, so misleading!

Me aimed for Aug CB actually, already spent more than RM600 in accumulated receipts so now only realized min is RM200 p/transaction, wanna bangwall.gif bangwall.gif bangwall.gif Among all receipts, only 1 is more than RM200, few is RM190++ lagi doh.gif doh.gif

Well, who to blame since me myself didnt read the T&C clearly! But I should hv just used other credit card!!!

I just managed to call CS again just now, without question asked, this time the CS said she will get management approval to get it rebated back to me without any spending requirement. rclxms.gif
*
That's good! I tried emailing first, failed as expected.

When I called, a male CS answered my call. He rejected me directly, claiming no more offering any rebates. So I requested him to appeal this to the management, he said ok, he would try but sounded very insincere and did not even confirm my CC details (although he would already have those in the system). I had to asked him myself how to receive any update, of course he said just check online via the statement within 3 days. I just wish my call had been answered by a better CS like yours! And I have this gut feeling that I likely have to call again...

yes managed to get, at first say cannot also but then they say will hand in a request to management and subject to management approval

Yup mine the lady does not even want to put in a request but I called again and the next person said they will hand in a request for the sst cashback

How quickly was the rebate reflected in your credit card? I called in last Wednesday, insisted the CS to appeal this to the management as she insisted me to pay. She said ok at last, told me that this is the last time as they no longer practice this anymore. But till now I yet to see the rebate in my credit cards, not sure if it has to do with the weekend + PH...

Was charged SST RM25 for my Public Islamic Bank Visa Platinum on 8 May. Following week, call CS for rebate. Say already put in request to management for rebate.

1 week later, nothing happened. I call CS again and ask what happened to the rebate. then CS come back say oh, now need to spend RM300 within 60 days in order to get rebate.

So I spend RM300+ over the last weekend. Today call CS again to check my card transaction and initiate rebate in the morning.
Only few minutes ago received the rebate.

Lately their Islamic Bank cards all having problem. Transactions captured late. CC statement also send late. CS claimed they are migrating their system.
*
Mine took more than a week too, but there was PH involved iirc. No condition given to get the rebate but the CS refused to gimme at first, and I had to insist to request for Management's approval, she "warned" me this is the last time. sweat.gif

I did call to follow up since the rebate wasn't reflect in my CC close to a week (usually it's faster like the next day or so). Then the CS told me it was already approved and would reflect in my CC within 1-3 days.

ir you used the card after sst charged, unlikely to get canceled (sst) cuz you deemed agreed with the sst to continue using.

if not used, usually they willing to cancel the sst with card cancellation (not to continue with the card/service)
*
Arguing with CS not going to pay for service tax as I have/did not use the card after service tax was charged. The CS insisted me to pay for it, and lastly agreed to put in a request for me. I'd like to cancel my CC so requested to reverse this service tax.

May I ask if there is any link I could prove or show to the bank that customers do not have to pay for the service tax based on the scenario above - do not agree to continue with the card/service. My card was expired last month, did not receive the new credit card so not yet activated or used the card at all.

If you intend to keep the card but not using it, yes you need to pay but if you intend to cancel it, then banks will write it off.
Sharing my experience up there as well.

Normally better to call cs and ask them to send card replacement cards which going to expire. Some bank don’t send. Sometimes sst auto charge. Better terminate even not activate to avoid issue. Else been flag as default without realize
*
I'm planning to cancel it, just that I have credit balance and they can't assist me to cancel the credit card immediately, plus I am in the midst of getting this SST reversed. No issue with AF, they agreed to reverse the amount.

OMG! I'm actually dealing with HSBC for this SST, decided to post in this thread since I remember I read it somewhere before customers do not have to pay for the SST if we have not used the card post the SST. I hope mine don't have to be dragged for months like yours.. It's so difficult to reach them, do not even have an email or e-form to proceed with all these requests.

Thanks for sharing though, hoping there is a link or smt for me to prove and show the bank I do not have to pay for the SST in order to get the card canx asap.

also refer to the respective card t&c or generate t&c governing service tax.

Tqsm thumbup.gif will use this to support my statement in the event the bank refuses to reverse the SST charge.

This one easy to achieve? I know it is mentioned in #22 top Eligible Cardmembers with the highest spending submitted within each specific Participating Month will be classified as the Monthly Prize Winners. Just wondering any similar campaign before this & if I only spend RM1k+ possible to win the RM288 e-vouchers?! If the chance is slim, I'd rather pay using another CC for a different campaign.
