Hi sifu,

please recommend me a laptop

Budget: less than RM 3500
Ram: at least 8GB, prefer 16GB
atleast a SSD for software installation
If HDD prefre 7200 rpm
Display at least 15 inch
Plan to use this laptop for at least 6 years (durability and a bit of future proof).

battery (doesn't matter, mostly is with power plug)
weight (doesn't matter)

Usage: mostly office work, with many background programs, large office files, multiple browser tab.
Occasionally playing AAA games at lowest minimum setting (as long as can run enough).

Thanks!!

In terms of reliability or performance?

Fine with lower end GPU like MX250?

Hi guess0410, i recently just purchased a ILLEGEAR Raven SE and they are offering a free upgrade to 16GB RAM and other promotional stuff. And by default, it comes with 512GB SSD also. Perhaps you can check them out at their website. So far this laptop is working fine for me. Bought the i7 9th gen and GTX1050 variant since i would be doing mostly work purposes and multitask a lot.

removable battery is rare in laptops nowadays

if you want best reliability you might want to consider business grade laptops, unfortunately they aren't cheap

don't need business grade. something simple is fine. if can last 5 years then will be happy

currently using a old ass pc that is probably nearly 10 years old and takes literally 5 minutes to start up and opening new tabs on chrome feels like it takes a minute

the problem is there's less guarantee on lasting 5 years if you go for consumer grade
