But I got BAD experiences with Acer and Lenovo. Must I choose them? Am not really up to date with latest specs and brand nowadays coz my last purchase was 5 years ago.

My preference not good is it?

Shortlisted candidates:

1. HP 14 CE3047TX (i7-1065G7,8gb RAM, 512gb SSD, NVIDIA mx250)
2. Dell Vostro V5490 (i7-10510U,8gb RAM, 512gb SSD, NVIDIA mx250)

These two I meant

Anecdotal experiences should not limit your evaluation of product being offered....every manufacturer produce lemons every now and then...

Reviews give a short preview...no one could really predict long term...

Case point: I've a lenovo laptop that the outer casing disintegrated in 2 years...I'm on my 3rd lenovo laptop order even after that.... It does colour my decision to go to metal casing if there's a choice...

Choices: You could go w HP Envy x360 w Renoir 4500U or 4700U.... Similarly w Dell Inspiron 7000 series (2 in 1) w the same Renoir CPUs...

^these 2 in 1... should offer stylus that facilitates note taking during classes

There are better options than these. Every brand has good and bad models and lemon units do happen

If you want more options, refer to here: https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/4771316

Looking for recommendation for a friend doing business.
Usage: for accounting purposes, apparently was told to get at least i5 and 8gb ram for the software compatibility. Excel and Word tasks.
Weight and battery doesn't matter since it's gonna be plugged in.
Must have num pad. SSD is a must.

Budget wise, as cheap as possible, 1.5k to at most 2k

There's no decent model under RM2k unless you're fine with TN panel and slower CPU

Hi, need recommendation to buy new laptop.
Usage: mostly office work. Some, simple video editing (filmora), not too demanding games. Only play FIFA and PES.
Prefer 10th gen intel.
512 GB SSD
Dedicated graphic card (MX250 is enough?)

Budget around RM 3000

Thanks in advance

Mind low sRGB display and non-upgradeable RAM? Any preferences on weight and display size?

Don't mind the low sRGB. If the RAM non-upgradable, hopefully it's already 8GB minimum.

Weight does not matter and display size 14" and above. Any suggestion

Consider Dell Latitude 5300 DFO. If cannot accept refurbish, need to go for non business models

For your budget sub 1kg is not possible, consider 1.2kg: Acer Swift 3 SF314-42-R8A9 / R43G, but not sure whether it's still available or not

For your usage, Intel or AMD doesn't matter anymore (of course Ryzen 4000 is a better package overall)
