I call this number if they arrived Shah Alam ?
The toll free number. Yes
You have to call 1 day in advance before going there to do self-collect
They will call you once the parcel is ready for collecting

Cannot do self collect on the same day you call them

so frustrated, my new x13 screen got red dot but lenovo said it's only 1 pixel affected so it's acceptable, can't claim warranty.  mad.gif
Normal. No manufacturer will entertain anything below 3 dead pixel
QUOTE(karheng @ Dec 9 2020, 05:56 PM)
with screen leaking issue, they change new one for me.
That's a different issue. ACER won't entertain you either if the issue was dead pixel and the quantity is below 3
Some brands even set a minimum of 5 dead pixel

hi guys, for the laptop with dummy drive option, can i slot in ssd myself later? or if selected dummy drive option, means that the slot is gone as well?
You can just remove the dummy drive and either install a 2.5" SATA HDD/SSD or an M.2 NVMe SSD
You have to choose one of them, can't have both

I myself installed a 1 x 512GB M.2 NVMe SSD & 1 x 1TB M.2 NVMe SSD on my younger brother's Legion 5

Make sure you call 1 day in advance before collecting
Can't collect on the same day

I think can, but UPS are just lazy to do it

im getting below. and i can install a newly bought SN550 1TB SSD from WD in the dummy slot right?
Yes you can. But if you choose dual NVMe SSD setup, you will get a bigger battery of 80Wh vs the original 60Wh

really?  ohmy.gif
Yup. But sadly, you can't mix and match. IE, 256GB NVMe + 1TB NVMe or 512GB NVMe + 1TB NVMe. Both has to be the same capacity
Also, make sure you pick M.2 2280. Not M.2 2242

Differences:
M.2 2242 - Doesn't have DRAM
M.2 2280 - Has DRAM

anyway was curious, both below are same price, why would they put the option of DRAMless SSD if both are same price and people will of course for DRAM SSD?

Cancel your order and re-order again using GIVINGUP
I've just tested, GIVINGUP gives higher discount than DEC1212

So basically this is a laptop my parents are buying me for uni
What are you going to use it for?
T14 for studies? A waste of money I would say
To me, ThinkPad & ThinkBook is more suited for working-class people

I would advise you to go for Legion 5 instead
Yeah it's heavy, but it's also heavy-duty which you can use not just for studying, you can also use it for gaming as well

And the cooling power of the Legion 5 is leaps and bounds better than any ThinkPad / ThinkBook

But I'm skeptical about the 60wh battery, upgrading to the 80wh battery option is quite a bit more expensive. I have considered Legion 5 15 but afraid of it's battery life.

Using it for college, planning to head for engineering undergrad. Also I see that you recommend the on site repair option upgrade from the base warranty right?
You worry too much about the battery life
The original 60wH battery is enough, it's just that the 80wH battery even longer battery life, that's all
Ofcourse you can't expect long battery life when you game LOL. Normal usage should last you around 4 hours, depending on the specs you get
My younger brother played Netflix on his laptop and it pass 5 hours before the battery dipped to 5%
The model that I bought for him is with Ryzen 5 4600H + GTX 1650 (non-Ti). Ryzen 7 4800H + GTX 1650 Ti / GTX 1660 Ti / RTX 2060 would last even shorter ofcourse

Yes, onsite warranty is very important both for personal & commercial use
Even more so when you are a student, you don't want your laptop to be down for a very long time right?
With onsite warranty, you just have to call Lenovo helpline, state your issue, follow the troubleshooting guide by Lenovo, then if the troubleshooting guide by Lenovo fails, they will send their engineer on the next working day

Without onsite warranty, you will have to send the laptop to Lenovo service center and wait between 14 ~ 30 working days for them to repair it
Even worse if they don't have the stock for the replacement part, you might have to wait up to 60 days

if i buy lenovo now, the tax invoice will be issued in this year ?
Tax invoice will only be released once your laptop is shipped out
If you choose those pre-built units with "Shipped out within 3 - 6 business days", then you will definitely be able to get the invoice by this year

If you do a custom order, definitely won't get the invoice by this year lah

And expected next week
Don't believe the delivery date
UPS China & UPS Singapore works fast
But UPS Malaysia is crap. Go back a few pages and you'll see how many people got their laptop delayed stuck at UPS Shah Alam warehouse for several days

If you're in Klang / Shah Alam, I suggest you to request for self collection at the UPS warehouse in Shah Alam
**You can only do self collect 1 day after you call them to request for self collect. Cannot self collect on the same day you call them
