a few new things i noticed on tv playstore...

1. bbc player has been there for some weeks now... if u r unifi customer ultimate pack, just install, log in, it auto detects, u r good to go.

2. playtv@unifi - there are 2 apps there in playstore; depending on which box u hv and if u hv been migrated, i think the tv can now play the app(s).
i cannot confirm becos i am still using old silver box, not migrated yet - can install but can't play.
probably much is still work-in-progress, migration in stages.

3. search for "kite tv"... 风筝TV... while much is locked, u can find some decent live tv channels.
as this one is not legit, i dun think it will stay in playstore long... enjoy for now!

Been using this TV for 3 months and overall happy with it. Only problem is AstroGO can't watch live channel as it will be lagging. But on demand content no issue. Any work around available?

How you install the astro go app? Through playstore or external side load in?

I don know about BK1X. But AL1X is based on aging Mediatek MT5891 SoC, only 2GB ram with around 700MB free during operating without any additional downloaded apps. I will foresee it will struggle rather fast if more apps installed. I don't see any benefit to run in new OS with such considerably weak hardware.

Thanks for SOC info on AL1X. Do you mind sharing where you found this info?

Hi guys, I'd like to get some opinions on Sharp 4TC70AL1X. (I didn't want to create a new thread since this one is already discussing on the AL1X model.

I am basically attracted to its 70inch screen and it being an Android TV. Price is not too high for me too.

but at the same time, I also heard Sharp TVs are now actually rebadged Hisense TVs. is this true also for this model?

I read Sharp TVs are reliable but if it's true it's Hisense underneath, I am not so sure.

The other brand and model I am comparing this to is the slightly cheaper and smaller 65 inch Panasonic GX740 smart tv. The specs seems bit better than the sharp one above (except for not being 70inch and running on Android).

i'm currently using a Panasonic 50inch smart TV too for >6 years now.

Thinking of making a change and going for a larger android TV like this Sharp 4TC70AL1X. Would it be a wiser choice over the GX740, with respect to reliability and performance..

thanks in advance for the advice!!! notworthy.gif

if the source is limited to 2160p 30hz, of course it will be that on the tv.

the tv can do 2160p 60hz is the source is such.

google n read more.

in USA, sharp tv's came from a factory in mexico which has was bought over by hisense, allowed to used the sharp brand.

in other parts of the world, taiwan's foxconn bought over everything, incl sharp japan.

the sharp tv's u buy locally has nothing to do with hisense.

i guess he is using HDMI v1.4 cable connect from laptop to TV that's why he get 30Hz max.
Need to use at least HDMI v2.0 cable.

Dear Owners of 4TC60AL1X, can you help confirm or check the wired ethernet connection whether it is Fast Ethernet (100Mbps) or Gigabit Ethernet (1Gbps)?.. if you are using wired internet connection and your internet subscription (unifi, Maxis or Time) is more than 100 Mbps, then you can run Speedtest on your TV (you can either download speedtest from google play or run from web). If it's doesn't reach 100Mbps then it's FastE, if it goes beyond !00Mbps then most likely GigaE. I asked two different Lazada sellers, one says FastE, the other says GigaE... hmmm. Thanks for your help.

i am quite sure it is fast ethernet 100mbps.
u get higher speed via wifi if yr internet speed is higher than 100.
tv makers do not make gigaport becos for tv video streaming, there is really no need, save the money.
netflix 4k only requires 25mbps.

Just bought and installed 2units of 4tc70al1x for my mum & sister's house. Felt that the al1x is more superior to my own 60" bk1x even though its a much older model than bk1x.
