Hi, android tv is sure much better than smart tv lah, as smart tv is running manufacturer os that have very less app support, update also less.

For android tv there so much possibility, btw pls don't try to root or jail break your tv, you may mess up your tv.
Just side load apk or install app from llay store is enough.

I currently watch singpore tv and Malaysia tv without any antenna, just install the chinese app from the play store, you search in the playstore.

If you want watch free movie can install terrarium tv, and some other chinese apk also good to use, but not sure you can read chinese or not.

And have many ppl install the app myiptv4k (need subscription fee) also have tons of movies and live tv, included astro, history channel, discovery channel, and the malaysia and singpore tv, the subscription fee is cheap, much cheaper than netflix.

guys, i just bought AH1X, i found the color is very dense, all colors seems not so natural. even though i tried to adjust through av mode , still not up to the standard that i expected. movie mode is closer that what i expect but the brightness is low and dim. anyone knows how to fix?

furthermore, i tried screen mirroring using my asus laptop with windows 10, it disconnected after 20seconds. phone mirror is fine. any solution?

ah1x is a lower grade tv than al1x or ua6800x but i think some of the features are the same.

if so...

of all the AV modes, std and movie are likely the best choices.

pc, gaming not good for videos; dynamic is for shops to display but can be useful for 4k HDR videos when adjusted.

there are 2 ways to adjust the brightness, contrast, color, etc for every mode.

1. check settings, and play with OPC - OPC on means the brightness will follow surroundings. if too dark, u may want to off it, so that the brightness stays.

2. on the remote, there is a button to access and adjust the variables for any mode - brightness, contrast, color, sharpness, etc. - to your liking.

if above features r not found on yr TV, i'm unable to help.

lastly, ah1x does not have chromecast like the others but some other mirroring feature.

Hi, when i press OPC button on my remote, it shows cannot use this function, any idea why? AL1X

cant capture.. the shadow is too light, naked eye wont see if not the while screen is white.

but basically it is vvvvvvvvvvvvvvvv at the bottom of the whole screen

OPC is not active in the homescreen; works only when something is playing... youtube, or one hdmi input playing some video.

OPC or optical picture control is a long time sharp tv feature, incl older models.

i usually have it ON as environment is usually quite bright.

hard to comment w/o details...

perhaps monitor and see if it gets worse, call for service to check then.

Hi. Do u have issue whereby u are unable to switch on the tv properly? Mine is having issue after pressing the standby button on remote, need to wait at least 2 mins before the light turns green. Then only switch on. Sometimes need to press many times as the light still red.

Just buy any universal bracket online, 37-70 inch braxket will do.

Have to point the remote to left bottom cornet, as the sensor is there.

Any chance that al1x will get android 9 update?

None. The processor and 2GB ram isn't enough to support android 9.

Do you know the spec for BK1x ram?

Bullsh*t reason. Mi Box S with the same amount of RAM (& probably similar processor performance) is already on stable build of Android 9.

Android 9 for Android TV platform is just incremental update from version 8.0. If your TV/box can run Android 8 just well, so will it on Android 9.

It's the matter of how competent TV manufacturers are when it comes to providing updates.

I don know about BK1X. But AL1X is based on aging Mediatek MT5891 SoC, only 2GB ram with around 700MB free during operating without any additional downloaded apps. I will foresee it will struggle rather fast if more apps installed. I don't see any benefit to run in new OS with such considerably weak hardware.

In my AL1X, The active contrast mess up the color so much. I have it turn OFF all the time. Try reduce the contrast as well. Contrast is very important, TV manufacturer tends to bump up the contrast to make colour look denser, vivid and high dynamic lighting but is not natural at all. You loss the mid tone (shadow) so black looks completely black without details, white clipping.

Another way to calibrate the screen is to refer the screen that you like the most. if you think you are please with ur phone screen colour, try to mirror you phone to the TV and adjust the colour similar to ur phone. The good thing about Sharp TV is the broad adjustable parameters (six colour hue, tint, saturation, gain), but could be troublesome if you don't have reference to adjust.

Either Sharp is joking as they said is a discon model.
