I really want to get a 360 now. I see that the Elite US version is up on gamershideout site but when is the Asian version coming? And what is the projected price?
I dont feel like getting a step down transformer. BUt all this waiting around might just make me get the US version after all. i so want to play GOW. This actually depends on the market for the asia country.
Hence why U/S version has it cause if not mistaken (there always want to be the 1st  )and mostly all thier TV are HD ready. Maybe they see Asia country doens't have much HD supports? but anyway, rumors are saying Asia Version are coming on late july~. |

well hard to say... there is hong kong/taiwan/china/singapore coutnry would love the elite version to be coming out~.
but that depends on Microsoft as well. anyway, the pro and cons for the xbox 360 elite ? hard to say my fren. this is what I say. the elite version. you have to stick with U/S Games. A Step down transformer (RM 200 at least). |

^ seems like the most important feature of the Elite for you is the HDMI port.
i think by the end of this year, with 65nm processors, they might update their premium package to include HDMI port also. the problem is that u'lll have to wait much longer. why don't u buy a premium now (2nd hand is cheaper) and sell it off when the HDMI model comes in NTSC/J flavor?  |

i might have to get an elite.. my console is 3RoD and i might as well grab the HDMI upgrade since my set up can use it ... my console is being emo again... 3rod twice yesterday and now today also twice... stranglely though it was working last night and then this afternoon just not now

dude, my advice if you have the $$$$ then go ahead and get the US version of ELITE....
If you wait for the Asian version you will wait very long man!!!! But if you dun want to spend so much then just wait for the Asian version lo.... i did not wait for Elite... got fed up waiting... and now Im enjoying playin GoW & Crackdown on my 360.... |

If u guys want an Elite just so that you'd have HDMI, u can wait for XCM to release their HDMI cable convertor which is scheduled for release in about 4 weeks time. Not sure if it's going to be a great product, but at least there's an alternative solution for those who desire HDMI.

It'll be interesting to see how much the XCM VGA to HDMI converter cable will cost. Considering the the benchmark these days is the Gefen Component/VGA+Audio to HDMI converter with goes for $199 retail which has been discontinued.

DO NOT BUY THE 360 ELITE!!!
65nm 360 is coming this fall (that's Sep-Nov to you and me) and from what i've read so far, this could be the 360 we have all been waiting for.  This is like the biggest untold secret yet when u put things in perspective. Why the heck would Microsoft release Elite now? If it was sooo Elite why didn't it come equipped with the 65nm chip? Answer 1 : Elite was there simply to deter potential PS3 buyers because they are competitively priced and not to mention the 120gb hdisk that put PS3 's own premium package at 60gb to shame. Answer 2 : Elite was there with the black finish so as to trick potential PS3 buyers into buying 360s accidentally? And if u need proof go here Microsoft being Dodgy This guy can actually deny the 65nm 360! It seems to me that Microsoft is so rich that they can afford to put a crappy(still has 3ROD) clone of their original crappy(3ROD) product just so that they can make life hell for PS3. That's how determined these people are. And who has to suffer? (I'm not going to answer that coz it's a rhetorical question) So, what's the secret? Look at this. 
With the 65nm being cooler, i truly believe this 360 will be 3ROD-proof! Cooling. That's the only thing that matters n i don't feel like spending MYR2k just to spend more money to repair it later. And who gives a shite bout Elite or not, black or not? The way i see it, a brand new line of 360 will be on sale in fall. And since the PCB will be re-designed for the cooling system, they'll be mad not to include the HDMI ports on all three. Come September, we could be seeing a brand new line of Core, Premium and Elite all equipped with HDMIs and 3ROD free! Talk bout wet dreams coming true  So, the rest of you people who've followed this thread and haven't bought a 360 or planning to "upgrade" to the "Elite", DESTROY that thought! Keep that money and wait for the truest of the 360, come this Sep. |

Yes, this is what they said!! Microsoft could use a page out of Dell's book on support policies sheesh!!) I did a format and maintenance on the drive instead of sending it in. (xx left bumpber right bumper xx is how you do maintenance kind of like a chkdsk in DOS I would assume) The format was successful and the drive maintenance came back clean. We then proceeded to play games and HD DVD movies problem free until last night. Last night, the screen would lock up just on boot up with or without the hdd attached to a red and black check board screen. Multiple times it did this as well as the 3 red lights of death, general hardware failure) I even unplugged from power for half an hour during supper and then tried again. Keep in mind, this is a cold console it hadn't been played all day! I called MS back while this was going on. While on hold, I tried shutting it down and back up again about 5 times and then it finally booted up properly. I then shut it down and back on again a couple more, just to make sure. I then hooked the hdd back up and tried a couple of more, it seemed O.K. By this time I got through to technical support and I explained the situation, they gave me a reference number and told me if this is still happening 24hrs from now to call them back. I was a little perturbed by this answer but agreed to it. After I got off the phone, my room mate tried to play Forza 2 where the console proceeded to lock up again just as before. We decided to leave it off for the night and will try it again at supper time today. I will let you know how I make out with Xbox tech support tonight. Thx JAC M$ FTF |

The Elite Asian version is available in HK but I think that's a JAP console running at 110V. You can check out http://www.goldenshop.com.hk but honestly, the price is a little higher than the price selling in Japan itself because the JAP version is supposed to be cheaper than the US version, probably around RM1700 or below. As usual, can't be modded as it's using a BenQ drive. Guess gotta wait a little longer for a modded one.
