Hi. I was a banker and I know what banker is really scared of. Believe me, they won't call u back, unless you do something else.
This is what you could do to AmBank, to spur them into action to investigate, and give u back the money.
1. Gather whatever evidence you have, such as your statements, or ATM slips or whatever things that you think will help your case. Make 4 photocopies of those documents. Remember, the point is not to produce useful evidence, but "appear convincing" with lots of documents.
2. Write a letter to AmBank about what has happened, and remember to threaten to COMPLAIN TO "FINANCIAL MEDIATION BUREAU (BANK NEGARA MALAYSIA)" if they don't give you the money. ALSO remember to ask them to contact you before a SPECIFIC deadline, for example 1 Nov 2008. The letter should also inform the receiver clearly that the letter is CC to AmBank HQ, AmBank Branch (Where u hold account), and AmBank Credit Card Department (Address on your card statement).
3. Make 4 copies of the letter, attached the "so called evidence" and send AmBank HQ, AmBank Branch, and AmBank Credit Card Department each a copy. Keep a copy for yourself.
4. Cut and paste the content of the letter, send an email to AmBank Customer Servic. CC to as many AmBank email address as you can get. (Remember not to include too many personal details such as a/c number in this email)
After you've done all this. Just wait, and they will call you and apologized

and give u back the money. Why do all this? Because most banks received hundred of complaints like these a day, they won't care because they know most people will give up if they delay long enough. If you become aggressive, and threaten to get Bank Negara involved, they will be really really scared.
Also, I told you to CC the letters and email to so many people, because by doing this you will get higher management attention. Many high ranking managers just sit in their ivory tower and think their banks are well run, until something like what u did happened, only they will pressure lower ranking staff to investigate.
If AmBank still don't act (I doubt they have balls not to care

), complain to Financial Mediation Bureau:
