QUOTE(amir.asyraf @ Aug 26 2020, 06:08 PM) LM On the GPU doesn't make that much of a difference in my own experience. Others will obviously have different results of course. My experience comes from my Aorus X7v6 (6820HK and GTX 1070) with TG Conductonaut. On the CPU, i got massive drops and very very even core temperature differentials. Easy 20 ish degrees Admittedly the 4 screw mounting system helps as well. When i used it on the 1070, there wasn't a ton of change. Around the 10 degree mark at most iirc. I switched back to Kryonaut on the GPU and left the LM on the CPU LM on Illegear machines void warranty if applied by the end user i think. So i just repasted my CPU with Hydronaut cos its thicker and Kryonaut on GPU. Waiting on my Kryonaut Extreme to come in. This post has been edited by Jared21: Aug 26 2020, 09:01 PM |

QUOTE(amir.asyraf @ Aug 29 2020, 01:18 PM) Do you notice any corrosion on the heatsink with liquid metal applied? Also, how often do you reapply? I dont think its corrosion per say. Corrosion would be something like LM on an aluminium heatsink which properly corrodes and breaks apart. The LM did bond with the heatsink but thats to be expected. Did not find any diffference in tempsI dont really have a set period of time for reapplication. I'll keep track of the temps and if they're out of order then i'll reapply. |

QUOTE(hppy67 @ Sep 1 2020, 01:57 PM) I tried repasting my Prodigy but the screw was stripped to the point where the screwdriver is not gripping at all to the heatsink's screw. The screws on the heatsink is screwed on hard and made out of cheap materials that the metals stripped of easily. Any suggestions to open the stucked screw? use a thick flat rubber band between the screwdriver and the screw |

@Prince J Is it possible to let me know the thickness and size of the thermal pads on the cooling solution for the 9th gen Selenite with RTX2060 as well as for the M.2 thermal pad? It'll be much appreciated!
Have a friend whos looking to get some Fujipoly pads from the US so i'd thought i buy some if it manages to work out This post has been edited by Jared21: Sep 2 2020, 11:38 PM |

QUOTE(Prince J @ Sep 3 2020, 02:16 PM) For M.2 SSD, we use 4mm and 2mm thermal pad, GPU thermal pad thickness needs to get the info from FAE. I measured my m.2 pad and it came out to be around 1.5mm/2mm. Should be okay if i put a thicker one on to it right? As for the remaining pads, would appreciate if can get the thickness measurements! For the CPU side as well. No rush on it! |

QUOTE(Santau_GO @ Sep 4 2020, 07:38 PM) what method do u apply hydronaut? I use a plastic spatula that came with an older tube of paste. Once i spread the past i occasionally tambah just a little bit in the middle of the diedo u apply a rice grain and let the pressure disperse the compund OR spread it first then put the heatsink back |

QUOTE(weicuenbb @ Sep 11 2020, 11:21 AM) hi guys, is illegear mid range laptop good? Is there any major issues? Am looking to buy a laptop with rm5k budget.. Can't complain so far. I would count my Selenite config to be a mid range SKU leaning towards high end. Regarding issues, always keep in mind that there will always be some bad units in a batch. I'd argue that its near impossible to get a batch of notebooks without any sort of defect, be it a small imperfection or a major one. In any case, thats what your warranty is for. QUOTE(chittyserv @ Oct 6 2020, 12:08 AM) Is liquid metal advisable? Saw some videos that says about corrosion due to liquid metal. Does illegear provide services to change to liquid metal? Your warranty will be voided if you apply LM. Best to wait until your warranty period is over then only apply. Think they're looking in to it but no updates regarding this yet |

QUOTE(chittyserv @ Oct 7 2020, 08:44 AM) I wouldn't call it corrosion per say. The LM does bond with the copper and leave a silver stain but so far in my use of LM, it does not affect temps when switching back to regular paste. It will corrode aluminium heatsinks though ZM Fong liked this post

QUOTE(awol @ Oct 18 2020, 05:30 PM) i ask them after 144hz option is available. i would like to upgrade due to colour accuracy and been told RM199 including trade in. Unfortunately screens aren't cheap especially the high refresh rate IPS or even AHVA panels. Was looking for a replacement LG panel for my old X7 and just one would have cost me about 400ish ringgit once convertedbeen waiting since for the panel. if RM499, its not worth it in my opinion. will add on another 2TB nvme SSD as my last upgrade for this laptop. |

QUOTE(Jared21 @ Oct 20 2020, 03:48 PM) Update to the Kryonaut Extreme application. So far in limited testing its performing much better in terms of core temperature differentials. Original application of the standard Kryonaut had around 10 to 15 degrees of difference between each core. This new Kryo Extreme so far has dropped it to around 2 to 4 degrees between each core. Same thing happened on my dellided 8700K with its Rockitcool copper IHS. OG Kryonuat did a decent job but the pump out was very bad. Haven't taken apart the Selenite to check for pump out yet. Either way, this was the result i was hoping for. Was getting sick of having to reapply the normal kryonaut because of how thin that paste is. Kryo Extreme is much thicker, somewhat comparable to the thickness of Hydronaut Will try to do more testing when i have more time on my hands. Also looking to get my hands on KPx soon to try and find the best paste for my machines This post has been edited by Jared21: Oct 25 2020, 01:07 AM |
