F1Ready, Set.. bikini-clad flag-off for FAMILY!!.. oh wait, wrong film
You want the super serious short summary? This is another on of those white-folks under-doge sports film that if you've seen one, you've probably seen'em all.
Yeap, that's about it.
Cuma setting in a F1 punya sport, bukan rugby (the americans do love this don't they) / baseball / soccer football /
golf/ boxing or what have you not ..
Ayam thought this was gonna be something that could hit the feels cause Hans Zimmer do the score .. but flat like the tyres in the show - guess you can't lift every show (or maybe in my case, appease every picky audience)
It was nonetheless interesting for me personally, simply because ayam never gib a dang for F1 before (sorry Sepang)

so very much have BLANK knowledge of how this F1 thing works, from their race format, line-ups, points, pit-stop, crew, team hierarchy - this film opened up to me how F1 is 'played' - not sure if in real life really got driver pull those stunts during their races, but yea - interesting to see
Cast chemistry not quite there - the camaraderie they try to build tarak feel, if you pay attention there's easily a handful of scenes where i think the actors not fully in their role / acted weird / not convincing enough, maybe script or editorial problem? (yes, ayam looking at you Javier Bardem, not your best outing)
in short, whether you are an F1 fan or not, if you are curious what F1 is about (as in the sport, and ok, maybe the film itself) - give it a
go
I returned to pyramid IMAX for f1. Yeah second time after originally went for standard version that Friday night it' opened late June
(originally wanted to go 1u then found out just too far for me still)
One thing is to kinda let me having refresher of how F1 can be endured much longer than I expected this year. I thought that's very good run for 2 months from late June till late August (just in time for me to catch IMAX demon slayer infinite castle in just reopened and upgraded laser projector)
Most of time, F1 having some thrill that's best served in big enough screen (I didn't go 4dx because hard to book and limited locations, so I can not say about it)
Especially during the racing scenes of grand prix race weekends (although the in between 3 weekends when Joshua forced to take break more like a filler for me, just underdog story progress)
Some things I have to say is fking LPF/WB censor a bit too much foul words just to make it clear 13 classification (along side with some scene about Joshua dissed sonny during first encounter, as well as censor middle finger b4 finale gp)
F1 should be rated 16 with such uncensored words. However I doubt that this will help in terms of box office because, another WB blockbuster 1BAA rated 16, didn't fare quite well ultimately
Other than that, the duration wise and post production cutting, need to be a bit more concise, some filler scenes could be cut a little bit shorter. This applies to both f1 and 1baa. Almost 3 hours duration is a big challenge for some men bladder (I almost can't hold the bladder and need to endure untill final scene will full bladder is not that optimal). Also this may pose challenge for some late night viewers which rely on public transport too
Okay enough say about bs. Partly because of LPF and WB, I give F1 7.5/10. And also 1baa too (although for 1baa wise not much is cut or censor. Just minor issues with duration, pacing and cutting)

Ps: and if you carefully watch that's loose connection between f1 and top gun somehow, Kate from Lockheed Martin which makes figher stealth jets, and final GP winning scene which Sonny literally "flying" lol)
