Wow
so basically now the thing depends on the quality of components..
again I believe the price of PS5 should've been a bit lower compared to XSX as its even falls a bit short in terms of raw power too...

hey btw thanks a bunch bro for explaining happy.gif now the thing is completely clear to me happy.gif

I'm just interested and curious what power stages they are using. 40a per stage or more? I assume it's around there because they do have passive cooling for the VRM, a heatpipe that connects to a smaller heatsink that is embedded together with the top EMI shield.

Bigger power stages generally don't need any cooling at all, but of course way more expensive.

maybe off topic, is the X90H they are promoting good for ps5? this may be in my consideration list for next tv upgrade.
*
It's a good LCD LED TV. It's got all the good qualities as far as gaming is concerned though:

- Practically no fear of burn-in (though technically it can still happen with LCDs, but it's near impossible)
- Low input lag
- Good enough out-of-the-box accuracy for gamers
- Good contrast ratio (for an LCD that is)
- Good enough upscaling (especially important for those current gen PS4 games that are locked to 1080p)

Still, it's still a mid-entry LCD with a VA panel and that does come with several pitfalls:

- Okay HDR, good enough for dark rooms but will struggle in brighter conditions
- Terrible viewing angles
- Average color volume coverage
- Poor anti reflective coating

thanks for your opinion, any idea if comparing to samsung TU8500?

and can it do split screen like one watching youtube another playing games?
*
Not much of a comparison needed to be frank. The x90H is on a whole other level in comparison to the TU8500.

All the TU8500 does better is contrast ratio. Everything else is significantly behind. The deal breaker is that it's another one of those TVs that doesn't actually do HDR correctly but it's advertised as one that does.

buy ps5 first as my tv still working and waiting for OLED tv price to drop further hahah
*
OLED TVs won't drop price much for another 3 years at least. 2022 is when LG was suppose to have their 10.5G fab factory completed, but covid happened and that plan has been pushed to 2023 and beyond.

i am aiming for 65inch LG OLED but price still expensive for now so see next year how haha
*
The only thing I can recommend in regards to price is to buy the previous year model before the current year launches.

So for example, before the next LG OLED launches (let's assume it's called the CXI), buy the CX a month or 2 before it launches here. Usually around April or June would be the lowest the current year OLEDs will get.

i heard LG C9 series is good enough and so i hoping the price will be less than 8K next year for 65inch.
*
C9 is EOL already. I doubt you'll find anymore next year. The ones you find now are really old stocks and if you notice, they aren't much cheaper than the current CX series.

I got my c9 77 inch for 28k, that was in April of this year. One month later, the Sony a9g went for 21k, so could have saved the extra rm7k. The a9g's price when I bought my c9 was around rm35k.
*
Kinda the same situation for me too. But I chose the C9 77 because of 2 things which IMO (and it sounds unreasonable too for rm7k diff):

- VRR support
- Not as aggressive ABL which the A9G is infamous for

The lower input lag on the C9 is also a bonus. A9G is an all around better TV for just movies though.

How can the price be more expensive then Singapore considering they have 7% GST. Crazy exchange rate
*
Because Sony knows people are desperate.

It's got very little to do with exchange rates.

Not surprising since Ray tracing was on.
I doubt even the rtx2080ti can push for 60fps 4k with Ray tracing on.
*
It can, with DLSS 2.0 - which the game will support.

Theoretically they can still launch here in November, but just a paper launch - meaning no stock.

So as far as Sony is concerned, they didn't break their promise with a global launch this year.

Those super eager to get PS5 just to play Cyberpunk, well good news! It's been delayed again, to Dec 10th.

Just imagine the trash it will get IF the game does not meet expectation during launch.. 🙈
*
It won't live up to its lofty expectations, trust me but don't ask me how I know.

I think Sony My office reports to Sony Sg.
Their regional HQ is probably in Sg.
And when they don’t even have enough stock for local Sg market, they won’t be exporting to their other offices/regions.
*
And Sony SG reports to Sony HK.

Apparently the new Sony PS5 Pulse 3D Headset has 12 hours of battery life.  I think the old PS4 Gold Wireless ones were only around 6 hours.
*
The PS5 Pulse 3D headset looks stupid. I don't know why would anyone want to use it.

I'll probably get it eventually when I get a PS5.  Hopefully there's an all-black version by then.  Also, it's cheaper than most branded PC headsets.
*
There are a bunch of headphones that will sound better. If Sony is so serious about audio on the PS5 (like they did with the PS1), why would you want to compromise that experience?

Dualsense controller teardown, revealing the haptic r2 l2 mech. Interadasting and also quite worrying when eventually the motor and gear get stuck which make the button cant be pressed, but only time will tell.

*
No lube on the R2/L2 tension gears is fucking moronic. Kindergarten level mistake. Foresee a lot of gears will start getting squeaky not too long into the future.

Also noticed there isn't a dedicated amp for 3.5mm output. Lol. Sony really doesn't want to spend the $1 to buy something from Texas Instruments to actually power good headphones. doh.gif

Worse still, ringgit gonna be even more trash next year. Expect $70 launch titles to be above RM300.

Welcome to next gen. All want to buy new consoles but forgot about paying for games.

I got a question is 4K tv sufficient for ps5 or 8k tv is better for future proofing?
*
The only 8k TV that is worth a sniff now is the Sony Z8H. It's 85" in Malaysia only and it costs RM80k. You have RM80k as spare change, absolutely go for it. If not, stay with 4k.

PS5 only has 667 GB of storage out of 825. That's a very tight squeeze if you have a large library of games.

My 1TB ps4 pro + 512GB SSD can barely juggle my game library. Even worse when I have to make space so I can update Warzone/Destiny 2/RDR2.
*
Get a 1TB external SSD and store your PS4 games on there to play off the PS5. You're wasting storage space putting PS4 games on the internal SSD.
