Guys, is TM locking Unifi Air from band40?

Previously I was able to lock band40 and get good speedtest. However lately the speed is quite bad thus I tinker around with the band. It seem like band5+40 give me stronger signal. However the speed is lower although is more stable. When I want to change back to band 40, no matter how many times I tried, it doesn't change. Check with my phone bebas and indeed it is running band40 just fine.

That price sounds reasonable for a new unlocked unit. All the best with your setup 👍✌

It definitely works seamlessly with Unifi Air, provided you have good coverage in your area. Many have shared that 20mbps is easily achievable.

Hi folks,

I had recently applied for UNIFI Air and gotten the B618s-65D unit. It is all good, love the speed thus far. Now I realised 2 things which I hope someone here would care to explain to me a bit; it's about DDNS and Virtual Server functions.

1) Upon connecting to DDNS, the entire router web interface is exposed to the registered hostname - even that I never expose port 80 to it
a) Is this the default behavior ?
b) It's a security risk - can this be changed ?

2) The virtual server feature doesn't seem to work - no matter what port to open /map to IP I am throwing at it
a) Anyone gotten it working (Straightforward or alternatively ?)

Thanks all !

Yes if you are locked onto the band that gives the higher speeds

Hi Guys, just wondering if using router like b618 will it increase the connection speed? My phone itself supported cat18 LTE-A (3CA) Cat18 1200/150 Mbps, which is higher than the cat supported by the b618. Using my phone as hotspot vs the said router, which 1 will result in faster connection? and can share with me the reasoning behind? thanks.

currently local telco only support 2CA.
speed? which one faster? varies... like is the area tower congested or not

as for hotspot, i'd rather use b618 as the router instead of phone. heat can kill your phone battery faster.

Yes, I almost forgot about network tower congestion. Guess I am lucky not to experience the congestion issues.
