QUOTE(skyforcerld @ Apr 12 2019, 02:27 PM) 4K already cannot see pixel even when close up the screen. 8K, IMO, is only suitable for really big screen....like 75" and above. people always saying the same thing over and over again, when tv moves from 1080p to 4k... and when phones starts using full hd & 4k screen.. |

QUOTE(zeese @ Apr 12 2019, 02:57 PM) people always saying the same thing over and over again, when tv moves from 1080p to 4k... and when phones starts using full hd & 4k screen.. Because 4K TV is now cheap. And because you can't buy bigger TVs at 1080p. Not that people buying to upgrade to 4K in droves. i just bought one recently. Because old TV screen cracked. Tu jer.Even Netflix, the best source of 4K movies/tv shows on the planet...the 4K contents are ....so little. PS: I did try close up to check pixels on my 4K TV when playing 4K videos. Can't find pixels. This post has been edited by skyforcerld: Apr 12 2019, 03:00 PM |

agreed that 4k tv is underutilized. those movies we liked a lot (Transformers, Avengers) mostly are done using CGI and for CGI they are struggling over high resolution rendering.
https://www.flatpanelshd.com/news.php?id=14...action=showfull Even its a 4k bluray movie but their CGI scenes are all being upscaled. |

Render in HD only? Sounds a bit unbelievable...PS4 can render Horizon Zero Dawn with HDR in real time. Despicable ME cannot do 4K with a 20,000 computers rendering farm OFFLINE? if complex scene like Avengers CGI maybe need more power...but most animation are hardly photo realistic. But i dunno lah, i am not expert. Just doesn't seems logical.https://www.flatpanelshd.com/news.php?id=14...action=showfull Even its a 4k bluray movie but their CGI scenes are all being upscaled. QUOTE(incubus_skj @ Apr 12 2019, 03:05 PM) Doesn't matter. If you watch 55" 8K TV source 8K, from a distance of 8" (normal TV viewing distance). You won't be able to tell the difference or zoom into the pixel.btw, i don't think there is real 8K TVs anyway in consumer market. SHARP's 8K is a fake 8K TV, but it does have some very pratical technology to improve the image quality. https://www.t3.com/news/how-sharp-turned-a-...vel-technomancy This post has been edited by skyforcerld: Apr 12 2019, 03:42 PM |
