DDPai is a good brand. Mini5 is new and it's 4K.
*
Saw the ddpai mini5 selling at RM600 at lazada official store, which i think consider reasonable price for "branded" dash cam and 4K recording

How does the ddpai mini5 stack up with viofo a129 / a119V3? which is more worth, ddpai or viofo?

I only can think of DDPai's parking mode losing to Viofo's.

Also, the built-in 64GB eMMC might put some off but the Mini5 is recording using H.265 so use less space for the videos than H.264.
*
Parkinf mode "lose" meaning? Whats the difference between viofo and ddpai parking mode?
I only see viofo win in the sense of extra few hundred can get viofo a129 duo with front and back cameras

Eagle-i still in business? I thought no more d.

That's a rearview mirror dashcam, not a windscreen dashcam. But the price drop so much. Seems like clearing stock laugh.gif  laugh.gif  laugh.gif

Ya salah cakap, is rearview mirror dashcam
Ya the price drop so low to Rm400 liddat, thats why wondering how is the quality of this dashcam brand, and at least the camera is at the centre not on the left side

Just installed the Viofo duo plus as per recommendations of blurjoey at Sicurez. They recommended me Viofo too as im not looking for many fancy features or great parking mode like Thinkware

Later when i reached home, i just realised like my parking mode not working properly. After off car engine, the Viofo enter parking mode (can see the car symbol on screen and the recording light is red). Then few minutes later after the screen off, the recording light is constantly flashing red (like not recording) and even after i on my engine the viofo like "fails to boot". I had to cabut the usb cable and wait for the unit to power off and sambung balik the cable to on the unit.

Is there something wrong with the hardwire kit? Or defect with the viofo unit? Or some setting done wrongly? Im using "buffered parking mode"

Did you check with Sicurez on this issue?
Lowest I think will need at least rm400+ for a budget dual dashcam.
*
Nope not yet.
I checked online, and apparently the “buffered parking mode” for the a129 duo plus seems to have issues
I tried and changed to “time lapse” today and so far everything smooth without problems
I guess its really software issue / bug which might need fixing in future updates?

Yeah pretty good for normal traffic recording. Overall I like it too, for that purpose.
Just disappointed on the undelivered promises of software part.
*
Ya i guess the Mola N3 is really a good buy for dash cam if you are only looking for traffic recording without the additional features nod.gif
Super capacitor battery type dash cam for cheap price

I'm looking for 4K supercapacitor dashcam to replace my current battery powered dashcam.

Is Viofo A129 Pro Duo still relevant today after 2 years in the market?
Is there any similar and better one incomparison to this?

Blackvue and Thinkware is out of my limited budget of max Rm1500.
*
Im using the A129 plus Duo and serving me well so far.
I didnt opt for 4K dashcam as I heard the dashcam will run very hot if recording 4K resolution, so i stick with 2K recording

Why sell…? No good…?  blink.gif

Bukan no good, i changed my headunit player to kenwood, the player came together with the kenwood N520 dashcam as well.
I can say that the recording quality of the A129 is way better than this N520, on top of that got back camera. Somore previously the back camera help me to record one case where the guy langgar my car bumper at traffic light :haha:

I just opted for integration with my headunit for the dashcam, thats all. Not bcos of no good, in fact i think is very good camera for the price paid nod.gif

Hi Sifu's.

Does anyone here know how many hours of footage can the DDPAI Mini5 record in its built-in 64GB storage? Planning to record in 4K and the only info I have is 10-12 hours using 1080p.

Also, any recommendations for the scenarios below?

1) Budget RM1K.
2) For front and rear recording.
3) Small form factor, if possible.
4) Unlikely will use the ADAS, GPS, etc. features.
5) 4K Resolution. If no options, 2K can be considered. Looking for clear & sharp image, as well as good night recording.
6) Super Capacitor battery.
I'm still surveying and roughly what I have in mind is 2x Mini5's. Just worried about the storage and longevity of the cam.

Any advices are welcomed as I'm still planning and surveying.

Thanks!
*
Can consider Viofo, it falls in ur budget of < RM1k and cover all your requirements.
Though i wouldnt opt for 4K resolution, only stick to 2K as 4K reso dashcams will run very hot

Thanks for the advices. If I were to go with 2K, how big of an SD Card do I need? Will 128GB be enough?
I see. That's good to hear as it supports the 2K statement. Would you advise getting the CPL Filter? Also, since I'm not going to enable Parking Mode, wondering if I configure the G-Sensor Parking, will the Super Capacitor be enough?
*
128GB will be enough, the videos will keep overriding themselves when full
Make sure u get a Class10 SD card
Previously I didnt opt for the CPL filter as i heard from the installer said it might affect the recording slightly during night time

As for the super capacitor thing, it has nothing to do with it being enough or not? It does not act like a powerbank where it will store power for consumption. The recorder needs to be either plugged in the cigarette port or hardwired to the fuse box for it to work. Since you do not plan to enable parking mode, so plugging it into the cig port is sufficient and nothing to do with supercapacitor being enough or not

Oops... Blur dou... doh.gif  doh.gif  doh.gif

If it is the RTC then best to send it back to DDPai for a warranty claim...
F790 is newer hardware specs that Q800 Pro. But 1080p vs 2K.

Waiting for the replacement model for the Q800 Pro.
*
So technically the Q800 is still better in the sense it can take clearer / sharper videos with 2K reso

Hi blurjoey - is your recommendation for dashcam is the same?

2 Cam - A129 Pro Duo
3 Cam - T130

Still undecided which to go for this time, but definitely either 2 cam or 3 cam.

Also for the 4K sensor of the A129 Pro Duo - is it better to record at 4K 30fps or 2K 60fps?

Thanks!
*
I personally would record at 2K 60fps because:
1. i prefer higher framerates, video recorded is smoother
2. recording video at 4K will significantly heat up the dashcam, plus our weather during hot afternoon is damn hot, and ur car tint is also absorbing the heat from the sun. Hot dash cam + hot weather + hot tint = ..... not good?

The M500 looks promising for the price and the features

Main drawbacks i see is:
1.Not super capacitor
2.Wifi only on 2.4 ghz
3.No rear dashcam support

Though the parking record mode dunno can compare to Viofo or not hmm.gif

Not sure how's the performance for 70mai.

Been testing Thinkware T700 for a few months and it's been good.

Uishh jgn lah compare thinkware with 70mai.. sweat.gif
One is premium level and one is mid level only, though the M500 is priced quite cheap for what it can do
