July 17, 2007 - Bandai Namco Games unleashed a big surprise at Sony's PlayStation Premier event today in Tokyo with the announcement of an all new game from Katamari Damacy creator Keita Takahashi.
Titled Nobi Nobi Boy, all we have on this PlayStation 3 title are just a couple of pieces of artwork. The artwork and name ("Nobi" can mean "to stretch" in Japanese) suggests that the game will center around a flexible wormlike creature of some form.
Disgaea 3 Announced
First screens of Nippon Ichi's strategy sequel.by Anoop Gntayat
July 17, 2007 - After years of sucking time away from PlayStation 2 owners, Nippon Ichi is finally moving on to the next generation. At Sony's PlayStation Premier event in Tokyo today, the third party publisher formally announced Disgaea 3 for the PlayStation 3.
Currently, we have just few details on the game, which is fully titled Makai Senki Disgaea 3. Once again a strategy RPG featuring a variety of selectabe units, the title appears to take place in a school setting. One screenshot shows a school backdrop with a menu prompting the player to change seats, go to your home room, or take part in graduation and entrance ceremonies.
The two screenshots we have suggest that Nippon Ichi hasn't quite abandoned its current set of visual tools in the move to the PS3. For a look at 2D sprites against 3D backdrops all presented in HD, check out the screens.
Disgaea 3 is set for Japanese release this winter.

July 17, 2007 - A new version of Metal Gear Solid is on the way to the PSP... sorta. As part of Sony's PlayStation Premier event today in Tokyo, Konami announced Metal Gear Solid Portable Ops +, an expansion to last year's Metal Gear Solid Portable Ops.
The new version of the game is focused on online play, with new stages and characters. However, Konami is also adding a mysterious new single player mode, Infinity Mission.
In Japan, this update will be released in two forms, on its own for 2,400 yen, and bundled with the original MPO as part of a 4,300 yen Deluxe Pack.
MPO+ is set for Japanese release on 9/20.

Gran Turismo 5 Prologue Set For October
An online sampling of the full GT5 in just a few months.by Anoop Gantayat
July 17, 2007 - Your next taste of Gran Turismo may come a bit earlier than expected. Following an impressive showing at E3 last week, Polyphony flew back to Tokyo in time for today's PlayStation Premier event where it announced that Gran Turismo 5 Prologue will be released to the Japanese market in October!
As for the content set to be included in Prologue, according to Sony's press materials, we can look forward to a variety of cars, including some set to debut at this October's Tokyo Motor Show. The game will also have online play.
The only question is cost. The game's pricing is listed as "TBA," which suggests that it might not end up being the free download that everyone was hoping for following last year's big demo gift.
More details on content and pricing should be arriving shortly, so be sure and check back here at IGNPS3.
