And so we say goodbye to the 10.5" iPad Pro...

Yeah, it has the same form factor but better spec than the old iPad Pro 10.5-inch those who have bought it previously will cry now hahaha.

Luckily they didn’t put Face ID or a USB C port into it - I’d be crying then!

Yeah hahaha.

But at least design wise iPad Pro is still a lot nicer. The price pays. Haha.

I am more excited on the iPad mini, becos I have 1 to 3 except 4 the laminated display one. Finally I have chance to own one now.

The old iPad Pro 10.5 still wins in terms of quad speaker (the new iPad Air has only two near the lightning connector) and also 120Hz Promotion display.
The new iPad Air only wins in terms of processor.

dun forget also price size, it is a lot higher for the old ipad pro 10.5-inch.

and A12 chip is significantly better than A10X...

They can’t put too much into this iPad Air otherwise no one would buy an iPad Pro already

For me owning the older iPad Pro using it for Netflix and YouTube, the quad speaker is really impressive and somehow is a must have feature for me for entertainment now.

But ya it makes sense for Apple to cut corners on the speakers otherwise no one would have bought the latest iPad Pro anymore.

True. Also, the covers and cases for these 10.5" iPad Pro won't look so good on the new Air coz there are cut out for four speakers where else the Air only has two, so accessories makers will have to clear the old cases and make new ones?

those the difference in speaker any difference in term of performance?

I'm sure there is, if you consider it's a A12 Bionic vs an older A10X Fusion in the older iPad Pro, but I think in normal day to day usage, you won't be able to feel much difference as the A10X is also quite a beast.

actually given the amount of price tag lower, the trade-off is quite worthwhile as a lot of people may not be so concern at all.

both the ipad mini and ipad air (2019) come with 3GB of ram which is not bad. haha.

iPad Pro 10.5 is actually better. Better display and more RAM. If still selling in Malaysia, this is the right choice to buy. Sadly a lot places now out of stock.

Machines was selling the old iPad pro 10.5 for only rm1999, but now sold out at online store.

Should be available by next month, seeing how retailers are already advertising it as "Coming Soon" on FB. Having tried multiple Android tablets before (from Samsung, Huawei and even Sony), I would say best to stick to the iPad.

two years old processor also. of course, if one does not mind the fact it is already a two years old device and price is cheap, it is still worth it to get it.

Besides processor everything else is better than the new iPad Air 2019. Also the processor only give 18% increase in performance. Nothing to shout about.

Better to have better display with pro-motion, more RAM, better camera.

Btw now iPad Pro 10.5 and iPad Air 2019 almost same price.

RM 3K might as well go for newer iPad Pro's. I think at most you can resell forRM2500.

Specs wise the iPad Pro 10.5 is really superior to the new iPad Air 2019. Just look at the comments on the macrumours comments section about it and they will tell you the same thing.

Currently it is, many places drop their prices to match iPad Air 2019. That's why if you go on Reddit or YouTube, people asking advise which to get. And many people recommending the older iPad Pro 10.5 mainly on display, speaker and RAM.

Initially was waiting for the new iPad Air to arrive in Malaysia. However, on Sunday I went to Machines at The Curve, and saw the 2017 iPad Pro 10.5 (Wifi 64gb) going for RM1999. Didn't think twice and straight away grabbed it before it was gone. Better speakers and display albeit older processor and cheaper!

how about app that optimized for Android GO ? is it fast? i saw some app recommendation in play store when i`m using my droid

I wouldn't hesitate to get 2017 iPad Pro 10.5 if compare to iPad Air 2019.
I think the price from apple store online is at RM 2,200.
Singapore Apple store is about SGD 750 which is about RM 2,250.

So iPad Air 2019 will be more expensive than 2017 iPad Pro 10.5 (Wifi 64gb).

And youtube there is too many video on comparison between these two models ipad.

I walked into machines KLCC last week on 20th March just to find out news about the new Ipad Air and was pleasantly surprise to find out the Ipad Pro 2017 has discount down to RM1999. That day machines has a lot of units like more than 10 units, but only one 64GB wifi unit in space grey color. I didn't buy it on the spot but went home instead as I was preparing to go Singapore that very same night.

I keep ponder about the deal, and made the decision to buy it before I depart Singapore. I called Machines around KL and found out many outlets still have quite alot of units when you account for all the color variants. I eventually decided to go pick up mine from Machines Garden which happen to have the space grey color i wanted. Then i went to SG and after 5 days, coming back to Malaysia on the 25th, almost all the 64GB wifi model sold out. So glad I bought it before I left for SG. Happy with the purchase and I bought a used apple smartkeyboard for SGD80 which pair up very well with the Ipad Pro.

depending on what you need actually. ipad pro 2018 has brand new design and tons of other techs that ipad air 2019 does not have.

if it is 2017, considered quite a good deal also.

Found that EpiCentre at eCurve still has the 10.5” iPad Pro... however price is starting from RM2655 for 64gb wifi.

Guess that its the retailers are the ones thats setting the price.

Other than that, there is Switch and Urban republic in johor.. for the same model and spec, they are selling RM2,400.

For 2200 I wonder if Air 2019 is more future proof due to the newer processor.

for future proof, i think it is certain, after all, it is 2007 processor although it is better than iphone 7/7+ and iPad 2018 processor which are using A10.

so, for iOS support, it may also have at least 1 to 2 versions lesser support than iPad Air 2019.
