You know what we can't time with SAMY
As it took too long to deposit
And I have raiz wahed and samy
To my surprise wahed make more money than samy
And wahed is more consistent now
Samy I have 14% risk and 26% risk

really dont know why their processing time has increased so much. Back in 2019 if i deposit on a sunday night, buy order is executed on monday itself. nowadays i deposit sunday buy order is only executed on wed or thurs

Strange. It's usually 2 days for me. Never went beyond 3 or even 4 days. I usually top up every week. Received next day, purchase shows up in portfolio the following day.

QUOTE(majorarmstrong @ Jul 16 2020, 10:28 AM)
i guess this is true cause my recent RM1000 is very slow
maybe i should keep it below 1k to make it faster
*
mine seems to be always T+3 at the very least. but im not on frequent dca mode, just as and when i hv spare cash amounting to 1-2k per top up, maybe i shud try 500 the next time and see

Keep dca

(MYR)
10% risk - 16.01% TWR 14.81% MWR
22% risk -  22.47% TWR 33.34% MWR

The screenshot is for 10% or 22%?

Cause I also have a single 22% portfolio;

MYR

MWR +19.46%
TWR +2.05%

But out of RM7.5k I am getting currently RM800++ profit.

You got RM10k but same profit with my RM7.5k net depo?
*
You guys cont dca during the march meltdown and thereafter? Got do any lump sum?

looks like majority are dca investors. sharing my exp on one lump sum portfolio that i have at 30% risk

deposited dec2019 and no topup since. lowest point was close to -25% during the meltdown. continued to hold my position nonetheless

Now its recovering and at about +7%. but current returns are heavily supported by gold and kweb at almost +30% for each etf

I dialed back to 36% recently after seeing the 30-40Y projection charts. I will prolly only reduce from 36% after a 5 years rally after 50 years old.
*
am also planning to create a new portfolio and start dca either weekly or bi-weekly into it. But still deciding between a more conversative level like 20% or go full 36%

Thanks for the advise.

Also wanna check with you guys here, how do you all classify the investments in KWEB under your geographical portfolio allocation?

Do you classify them under China since its ETF investing in China stocks, or under US since its a US domiciled ETF?

Classify it under the geographical exposure, not where it’s listed.

Yangzijiang listed on SGX is China stock not Singapore kan.

Haha ok understood thank you.

anybody know for 2nd deposit, do i still need to go to the stashaway site/app to fill in the deposit amount, then only jompay it? or i can directly jompay everytime when i deposit?
*
U can jompay directly everytime even without filling in the app. If you do not fill in the app and you have multiple portfolios, SA will split your deposit equally between all your portfolios

Even if you have filled in the app, you can change or amend the allocation amount anytime before the money reaches SA, usually around 11+am on the next working day

Btw the reference code you entered in jompay or giro is unique to your account and will never change

probably this latest news could instil some further confidence on this platform

but then again, new or small doesnt mean they are here to fail. You can fail even if you are big just like the case of lehman brothers

Indeed, but I think the way forward for confidence is to share AUM information since it is common practice in the sector.
*
wonder are they obliged to share if an investor ask. since they are regulated by SC everything has to be transparent ma haha

For my case (Check on transactions tab):

10th June
Deposit fund

11th June
Received on SA

17th June
Conversion + buy order

this is very bad i feel. Time taken is just too long.

just because conversion and buy the unit take longer time...
*
yeah but i recall they were very efficient in 2019, i.e. all my funds that reach them by 11am on a particular day, conversion and buy order takes place the same day itself. At most also T+1 (which is also rare) from the day they got the funds.

Yeah, definitely time and day of the week plays a big role.
Not sure about other factors. Curious to know too.
*
Yeah till that time comes now we all can only second guess for now lol.

QUOTE(xcxa23 @ Jul 29 2020, 04:49 PM)
I agree.
That time I still playing with "timing" the market and quite successful

But as time goes by, it's not consistent anymore.. so stopped liao..

Just "time" with fsm.. haha
*
Exactly at least fsm is almost a guaranteed success if you put in your orders before 3pm lol. Really hard to try to time with SA nowadays

I still have the old one over here at 36%, but new user has no access, only user who reject optimisation and join before May will have such portfolio. Just to clarify, i also have the newer 36% portfolio with gold,KWEB but i only DCA 25% there and 75% in the US centric portfolio.

So s&p 500 is still there as IVV.

Is there a best interval for dca? Weekly biweekly or monthly? Whats usually the reasonable amount?

Also say if the market drops further in between dca interval, should take advantage to top up or ignore and follow planned dca routine?
