You started when the market was down...so you likely to see positive returns faster than others
*
Yeah that's true, jumped in at the right time haha.

QUOTE(yklooi @ Mar 27 2020, 02:26 PM)
good for you,....

bcos of just 2 weeks, just curious about the numbers....
the actual returns in % (total now - total initial investment)......
is it the SAME as the TWR % value?
*
It's different, the actual total return is about 5.1%.

I just did the online learning module and submitted the certificate to StashAway. Can't wait to try out a portfolio with maximum risk index.

Also got asked by SA to submit my salary payslip and tax assessment too lol!

QUOTE(B500 @ Apr 3 2020, 12:20 AM)
Highly encourage you all to join the webinars organised by StashAway. Very informative and eye opening. Especially the latest one where Freddie talked about the market Outlook. One of the ways this current market crash is different than the 2008 global financial crisis is that during the 2008 GFC, it took a long period of time before the gov stepped in with any sort of stimulus / policy bazooka. And we observed that the period following the policy bazookas, the market started back its upward trajectory.

Whereas this time, the policy bazookas were out very swiftly following the steep drop. Of course, no one can predict the markets, but the US govt /Fed has learnt from past crises how to handle market crashes.

Moral of story, stay invested. And standby personal emergency funds of 3-6 months living expenses in cash.

I wanted to join that but missed it, is there anyway I can view it? If it is recorded that is...

Yeah one of the issue with the StashAway is that there is delay between deposit and withdrawal. So really the "Active Trading" part don't really play out well with this platform.

You'll be better off trading with the ETFs in the US through a broker if you want to do active trading, that's where the technical/trend analysis play well cause the buying and selling is a matter of minutes.

Has the market hit the bottom yet? Nobody knows lol

I don't know, if I know sure sai lang (all-in) liao hahahaha.
But it is interesting that the S&P 500 has made new highs and new lows...However, I don't believe that we are going into an uptrend so soon. US's nightmare has just begun lol.

Yes I suspect it could be certainly a bull trap from the news surrounding the US right now. For the simple fact that US has tried very hard to stop the decline ie: intervening the stock exchange market to stop, reducing interests rate to zero and the QE BRRT BRRRTTTTT. lol

So yeah once this first wave of a temporary band-aid is over and worn, I expect there will be another reversal.

I started with StashAway but now I'm looking to trade in the US stock exchanges too, learning how to read the charts and stuff haha.

Better to learn something new during this MCO biggrin.gif

Please don’t do technical analyses.  doh.gif

Oh? Why is that? Doing learning about Technical analysis has nothing to do with Stashaway.

I started to think quite hard lately because I'm setting to stick with StashAway as one of my investment Portfolio..Right now I have a small amount with StashAway so I wouldn't think too much about it, anything happen also I won't lose an arm if they go bonker etc.

But what if I have 7 figures with StashAway. That got me wondering lol. Been on my mind this whole morning hahaha

Well you invest what you can afford to lose. Meaning what you invest, better off assuming everything lost already, that how i create piece of mind.

But if you dump RM100k during the stock crash right now, man you're gonna be filthy rich when it goes back up in 1 or 2 years. I'd definitely pump in more if I have extra
*
Of course I understand that you only invest what I can afford to lose, that's what I have been doing ever since I started investing.
I don't necessarily fully agree with the part to assume everything is lost once put into investment lah lol but I get your point.

But definitely will keep investing with StashAway as one of my investment portfolio, I mean I didn't jump in blindly, I did some homework to see what they are like and felt comfortable with them.
The MCO is driving me nuts staying home all day hahaha

Anyway, we'll see about your forecast 1-2 years later wink.gif
That amount however, certainly won't make you "filthy rich" though hahaha

Not good, I want them to deposit immediately if possible, for example the market is low.
*
Yeah that would be great, but that 2-3 days or even a week of processing time won't make that much of a different given the nature of StashAway, that is the long term investment.

If you want to get in and out quick, it's better to do it yourself as there are plenty of share trading platform available now. I just started playing with eToro lately, their virtual trading account is pretty fun, I'm learning to play around with their platform at the moment.

haha hopefully. I just replied in another thread that has something to do with this. Basically I do save but not every single sen of my income and to the extent of counting every money I spend on everything. This is not an advice, this is just me haha. I do have my savings but I do spend on things that I like. Coz I don't know for sure if I will even get to 65 year old  biggrin.gif . But if I don't save and do get to that age, I'm screwed. So I enjoy life, and still spend my money on what I want (not need) but within my means and still save for retirement. A balance life. But some people do enjoy saving every single sen. To each his own. Sorry off topic.
*
I strongly agree. What is the point of having so much money if you don't know how to utilize/enjoy them? Money is pointless and meaningless unless you make full use of it and make something meaningful out of it! But sure, I suppose some people will just feel happy and content and safe when they look at the numbers biggrin.gif

That is hardly surprising given how easily you can make an account and start investing with StashAway....

Correct. Also StashAway allows duplicated sign ups, last time my friend used my referral and didnt deposit in 30 days, so he created another account using the username+whatever@gmail.com trick to use my code again and it works.

Is it possible if the account created is inactive for a period of time they will delete it?
