tomorow us market is open but SA MY is not open that why I asking whether the so called robo advisor will still process the deposit and etf buying
*
SA is not Robo trading, so need somebody to process the deposit. Holiday in Malaysia and US usually slow down the process.

Guys, SA does not have much compound interest, why the articles always talk about how to start young and compound interest may make you rich? I think it is irrelevant to all SA ETF interest.

Note: ETF gives very little interest.

Capital gains + dividends all make up the compounded returns.

Dividends not paid from money earned are reinvested to expand the business, dividends paid are reinvested back into the portfolio.

Stashaway dividends is in few penny usd right? It is virtually nothing.

You better hope it's 0 dividends. We get taxed a hefty 30% on US dividends, S&P 500 ETF typically pays 1.8%, that means its extra 0.6% cost on top of platform fee + ETF expense ratio we are paying.
*
If this is the case, no point SA singing the compound interest tune at all, it is useless.

Which article? I'm interested to have a read too, still not very sure how exactly this compound interests thing works.
As what I can understand compound interest does not really work in a stock market because the market don't pay you Interests but dividend.

So the only "compounding" that takes place in the stock market is you reinvest the dividends back to the stocks that you hold. Over time as the company grows, and so does your gain/return, exponentially. It is a very very slow process hence they keep emphasize on the LONG TERM.

Make money or not with this ?
*
Doesn't guarantee, because it invested in Stock, Bonds and Gold, but you can set your risk to lowest, then it will have the least risk of losing money, but invested in bond can loose money too.

QUOTE(kenkentjh @ May 12 2020, 10:57 PM)
Hi guys, anyone invested in the goal-based investing? What is the risk % for this?
*
SA usually recommend not about 18% / 22%

QUOTE(Vanguard 2015 @ May 12 2020, 11:16 PM)
I am also an investor in SÁ. Please pardon my ignorance and correct me if I am wrong.

The annual management fee is 0.8% for the first RM50K. The annual fees charged by the ETF Manager is 0.2%. Therefore, the  total fees payable per annum is 1%.

Therefore, if we invest RM50K in SÁ for 10 years, the total fees payable is RM500 p.a. x 10 years = RM5000.

This is immaterial whether our portfolio is making a profit or loss. Is my understanding correct?
*
Yes you are right, you have to continue paying management fees either profit or loss.

I dont understand how you could lose money in bonds... Might as well put it in fixed deposit. Maybe its the liquidity that attracts investor...

Actually FD has risk also, but is very very low.

Bond has higher risk compare to FD.

That's what their support told me when I asked why I could only see US ETFs on CFD and not Invest. The weird thing is I can still view and buy US ETFs like XLE on CFD so I have no idea what's happening. Maybe he just meant Invest can't buy US ETFs? Honestly their support is kinda dogshit. Ask a couple of things and they only answer one thing and it's not even the complete answer. sweat.gif Weirdest thing is when I lookup XLE on their main page it does show up in Invest, but not when I try to trade it.  rclxub.gif
