QUOTE(simonhtz @ Apr 12 2019, 12:09 PM) Folks, So long ady they still haven't fixed the auto-capitalising portfolio name issue, can't name them like "My SRS" or "FIRE".Created my account and started. Waiting for StashAway to take my money away. (Don’t know what right term to use) I’ll check in again after 6 months and let you guys know the performance. |

Just deposited RM500 for a 10% risk portfolio using the SA apps on IOS.
I must say that the UI is really neat and user-friendly. Their CS is very responsive and friendly too. Look forward to have more experience with SA! 😄 |

Haha, as a former programmer, this grinds my gear.Just a labeling issue. No biggie. This is fine, should be a low priority defect. They’ll fix it, sooner or later. |

QUOTE(simonhtz @ Apr 12 2019, 01:08 PM) Haha, as a former programmer, this grinds my gear. So my portfolios are "F I R E" and "W A T E R". The A cannot be dangling on its own, they will keep changing it to small cap 'a'. I need to use different accents of A and eventually found one that does not get downcased.Just a labeling issue. No biggie. This is fine, should be a low priority defect. They’ll fix it, sooner or later. Reflected to the team long time ago but I guess to them it's an unimportant backlog. Their projection chart is a big issue though. |

QUOTE(Leo the Lion @ Apr 12 2019, 02:00 PM) Haha, no la. This thing is an interesting (or boring for many) tool, I suppose.Supplementary retirement scheme. Besides the usual CPF, SG government encourages all peasants to open an SRS account with any partnering banks (DBS, UOB or OCBC). Cash deposited into SRS account can be used to fund other investment instruments, life insurance, equities, bonds, etc. Cash stored in SRS only yield a shitty 0.5% interest (IIRC) Cash deposited into this account will automatically calculated at the end of the year to reduce income tax. Caveat here, if I withdraw funds from account in the future, I have to pay back the tax deductions to IRAS. I figure since I’m going for long term with StashAway (if it works), I’ll use SA to take funds from SRS account for investment. Any dividend/interest is expected to go back to the SRS account. Savings from bank -> deposited into SRS account for tax income deduction -> cash in SRS account to fund StashAway So if the portfolio is performing, (if...) I could deduct tax and build up my retirement funds at the same time. I hope I’m understanding StashAway correctly. If it doesn’t work, I’ll suppose to have the option to stop the monthly transfer and go back to equities investments. |

QUOTE(Ancient-XinG- @ Apr 12 2019, 03:00 PM) I’m not familiar with other Robo advisors. I only stumble upon SA after knowing one of my co-worker’s wife works in SA. Then I discovered this thread. Late to the party. If I’m not mistaken, I think StashAway home base is in SG. And it’s licensed and regulated by MAS...erm, should be okay gua.... |
