Interesting how StashAway is supposed to diversify investments, but here we all are, hoo-hahing over KWEB whenever it goes up and down...

Haven't looked at my SA ports for a while and regretted doing so today, mood really down... I guess I'll continue to not look at it for a while, hopefully wait for them to resurface to the green then withdraw into IBKR

QUOTE(xander83 @ Jan 30 2022, 03:04 AM) Roughly can calculate Yeah regret going for 36% for sure. If I had patiently just stuck to 22% maybe won’t be negative so much. And I also did the monthly deposit for 10 months, just stopped last month. So I am already averaging down, but the bottom is nowhere to be seen.Good luck on KWEB as it is already breached 5 yr low now so many have already loss at least 50% on their KWEB allocations QUOTE(Davidtcf @ Jan 30 2022, 10:05 AM) My IBKR portfolio down 7% as I only started investing last year. Mainly in CSPX/VUAA, VWRA, Apple stocks, SWRA. Some BNKS and SMH ETFs. But will still DCA. When prices are down good time to buy. One day will go up.. historical records also show that for these stable stocks/ETF. Eventually KWEB will bounce back, but question is can we wait till that happens. Some people who are in need of money soon for a wedding, send kids off to overseas, or just for retirement will be in a rough patch, but lucky I’m not in those situations yet.For kweb then dunno.. so many years already still keep heading down. Maybe one day will shoot up. Depends how investors feel about China. |

QUOTE(honsiong @ Jan 31 2022, 01:05 AM) If you are down, keep putting in more monies. The best time to invest is when its down* I seriously regret dipping my toes into their thematic, 10k each, ouch. Sure, need to hold 5 years+, but I learned the hard way my risk tolerance isn't up there, so I guess not all is lost.* only diversified, non-thematic stuff of course. If you buy ARK funds its your problem kekekeke QUOTE(xander83 @ Jan 31 2022, 01:45 AM) If the bottom is in 20 range for KWEB we all know it is in trouble even superb quarterly earnings won’t help I think SA is bleeding AUM over the past year, else there's no need for them to do that infographic to show you their past performance blah blah blah. It must be significant enough that they think they should reeducate investors "this is what you signed up for".The bounce will only happen Xi steps down or die in office as he heralds a modern Chairman Mao propaganda Freddy now is laughing as he is so happy more loyal AUM in place for the next 5 years thanks to KWEB as we know now after 5 years this round of reopt is the worse as selling down the losses |

QUOTE(honsiong @ Jan 31 2022, 02:18 PM) There is a very good chance your thematic portfolios can be underwater for very long time, they are not your usual broad market index funds. They are too concentrated in the meme stocks. Yeah I should've run when I saw they were all-in on ARK Innovation's various ETFs |
