I used MIDF invest for all transaction below usd 1k just pay 1 dollar for each 1000 usd and no brokerage fee so far for the last 2 months. The app really shit though but i just bear with it since dirt cheap. Most transfer is instant but exchange rate probably not ideal.

Can someone clarify if SA’s fees already includes the underlying ETFs’ expense ratios?

Nope not included, the expense ratio is deducted from NAV. This is done by ETF issuer.

SA is a company that buy those ETF through another brokerage company and manage your portfolio which consist of ETF for you, the charges are only for SA.

SAMY replied me that it is all inclusive into their annual management fees.

My Question:
Hi, quick question. I would like to know whether the annual management fees is nett and all inclusive? Including the thematic portfolios.

Say, invested 50k at 0.8% per annum, ETFs fees are included in the 0.8?

SAMY reply: Yes, it is included.

Ok, you need to understand how etf fees is charged, it is at a different level (at NAV of the ETF to be exact)

You buy through SA or you buy directly yourself ,all will have charges incurred coming from ETF issuer itself.

You can refer here;
https://www.investopedia.com/ask/answers/07...es-deducted.asp

The management fees (of SA) is inclusive of all charges that is not coming from etf issuer itself, for example brokerage fee.

well, you don't know if SA used russia/china sanctions as a fake excuse. for all we know they panic sold
true, but just let it slide

This. It is certainly possible that SA already waiting to cut loss but could not do so without a sound justification and to avoid loss of trust on Freddy and team.

Make no mistake, while you as an individual investor can wait for that particular etf to recover, SA do not. It hurts their bottomline, remember with the absence of buy and sale charge, the bulk of their income depends on NAV. The longer it stays depressed the more it hurts.
