Not much explanation in SA's information page as to what happens to already-purchased assets after re-optimisation.

So as I told myself, just got to trust SA knowing what they are doing. Either we are in and follow, or out and seek for alternatives.

For me the sell order were only for IVV, TIP and VGK.

sigh, almost all the ETF holdings shot up by 3 - 4% only to be dragged down by GLD 

i mean, the reason i wanna hold onto high risk during tough times is so i can monopolize on these sort of unexpected sharp rebounds.

i know i could be wrong tomorrow (GLD could steadily go up but everything else drop 3% pula) but just wanna rant today. stashaway robot better know what it's doing!

i think the robot sense that investing in the emerging markets, or china, is riskier and potentially gives higher return?

US equities would rather be more conservative in the robot's eyes?

it's more like geographical region based now, instead of instrument type (equities vs bonds or commodities) when it comes to the risk ratio.

yeah, i thought so too.

perhaps maybe the person created the parameters for the robot to react to the market conditions etc, but ultimately it should be the robot that is making the decision, eliminating, human's rash decision and emotion from the equation right.

Legit or not legit (i.e. licensed in Malaysia), doesn't matter as long as you can make money from it. The SC has no power over foreign companies that have no local presence. It's like talking about regulating Amazon or Tesla when neither have them have set up shop here. I'm not saying people should use it even though I've been using it myself on and off for years but it's an option if people are interested. Or they could look at better alternatives like the ones I listed or even do some research on how to get access to foreign brokers. Etoro is known for its dogshit spreads which is how they make money but it's not really an issue if you mean to hold on for the long term. Literally the biggest issue with most is how to move your money out and back to Malaysia. Luckily IKBR has a hugeass thread full of active people using it who can help you with that.

SA being regulated only means that your money is guaranteed to be safe in a trustee account. It doesn't mean you'll have access to your investments to continue investing if they suddenly close shop tomorrow. You can look at what happened with Smartly to know all about it.

Actually i read many explanations but i still cant get it, not smart enough to understand.

I only know when bank in at USD x 4.35, withdraw at 4.00 then i am going to face 8% loss even all the ETF price unchanged.
