If you keep on vca every time there is a more than 2% drop....
Do take note that your ratio of 60:40 cash may change drastically unknowingly and
Do you have intention to "unload" some of your holding nearer to US election as you mentioned s&p is all time high?

The goal is eventually to have a 90:10 split. This is excluding my savings. Nope, I do not plan to unload. It's more a long term play.

Woohoo..cashout and just received the fund in my bank account. Overall after 7 months, gained 2.1% profit..lol

Sounds like a bad idea. Cashing out so fast with such low returns just doesn't make sense. Stashaway has to be seen as a long term investment vehicle, otherwise you'll make impulsive decisions and get lower returns than if you just stick with it.

which means in this case dca doesnt work right? cos u keep topping up at higher price.

Yes you are theoretically right. But there is a difference between having a lump sum of cash sitting aside, and not having it but dollar cost averaging.

If you have a lump sum of cash sitting in the bank, from a profit and lost stand point, lump sum investing is always better in the long run, because the market always goes up most of the time. But all that being said, we have to consider the emotional aspect of investing too, can you stomach the lost of the market would to go down 50%, eventhough you know in the future it will be higher than where it is right now.

Check this podcast/YouTube channel out, I learn so much about investing from them. One of the most underrated finance podcast currently.

I'm thinking about all those people who pulled out or reserve their money in cash what they are thinking now? Anyway it just shows we do not know how markets would react. It might drop again in the coming days. Just wanted to say, always have a stretegy and stick to it before and during investing. That way we won't be played by our emotions.

Invested with SA since Aug 19, up +30.96% MWR

Calm down guys. Take your wins, gloat if you want to, celebrate and, let it sink in. And after just remember with every bull run there will be a dip. So prepare yourself that when a dip comes, do ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. that's how you stay the course and win more at the end.

SA MWR +34.38%, over RM10k of unrealized profit... Keep investing!

Interesting to see them expanding!

Stashaway is going places. Just launched their product in UAE. So those concern about them going under maybe can rest a little now? Doubt a company that is going under will look for expansion.

Side note, StashAway Portfolio flying like 🚀!

I hope SA, quickly trigger to allocate more to other ETF. Gld is not necessary a good investment. As other etf climbs, gld  keeps sliding. All the portfolios choice allocate 20% to gold l, feels like I'm buying gold than etf
*
Felt the same too
Whenever I top up or dca, majority goes to GLD to rebalance the portfolio. Hopefully they will reduce the size of it especially for the 30 plus risk index. 20% for the highest risk index seems high. But still the best robo platform so far. So can't complain much.

Odd that mine so slow then - how come sign up later than me and already can deposit so fast? Unless when you say deposit, as in account approved, *can* deposit money (but money haven't cleared and appear in account)?
*
Was it a big amount? If so sometimes stashaway will need you to provide addtional info on the source of funds.

not sure but i've seen the return changed twice. in the morning around 9am and then again around high tea time.

Hi you are right. Typical there are 2 updates. One at around 1030am. That usually takes into account currency fluctuation. The second one at 2 to 3pm, if you've invested fresh funds this update will show the new funds invested. Hope that helps.

In the grand skim of things, March downturn was just a 'blip' in history. If there is any lesson to learn in 2020 is that DCA still works. And will continue to work in 2021 and dare I say in the future.

Never listen to people who does not have your financial well-being in mind like a CFLi** person lol. What do you guys think?

Some guys here are a funny bunch. Let the adult speak😂. I'm just joking but everyone just gotta relax and take a chill 💊 . And keep investing. No matter if things are high or low or medium or under or banana! In the long term all these will be small events that doesn't mean a thing when you look back in 30 years. 2020 will just be a blip on the chart. Stay safe and stay invested!
