That fella is really too much dragging the chair

Thinking of reporting this to the management office

What do you think is the remedy?

Any rules?

The fella is a renter tenant upstairs.

Step 1 - politely advise, tell him nicely that its disturbing you downstairs.
Step 2 - still happens, advise 2nd time, offer him a solution, or better yet give/volunteer him the solution
Step 3 - if still happens regularly, report ahead.
All tenancy agreements , im pretty sure says do not disturb other residents nearby.

if management is not taking action, report to tribunal and if you wanna get really serious, hire a lawyer and pursue a course of action towards management negligence.

if im not wrong, its this tribunal..(im not so sure)

(guide) - https://www.edgeprop.my/content/5-things-yo...gement-tribunal

*ps makesure u have record some sort of proof that you have advised beforehand. trust me, it will help you.

Why does your neighbour drag chairs ? Is there a need to do that often ? In my house, I dont even remember the last time a chair is dragged. At most move the dining chairs when mopping the floor but that too very little noise.

I use to have a Neighbour upstairs that had a furniture business. Everyday can hear noise of chainsaw or hammering. Whole condo reported, in the end still no action. We moved out. Good luck my friend, hope you have better results.

I am not sure whether this is famous practice or not in Malaysia.

But in China, where people mostly stays in condo in big cities.
They got this "shake floor machine" whenever upstairs is too noisy, just turn it on and let the vibration kicks in through the wall and annoy them.

Look for 镇楼器 in taobao

Wow this is insanely valuable.

Can it be connected via wifi or handphone.

So while I am at work, I can call the machine to shake floor to jolt the upstairs ?

According to some of the product description it does support smartphone apps and remote control.

Not sure the remote includes via internet like my Dyson fan or not.

Luckily my unit has higher ceiling to floor height. I won't feel compressed while living inside.

Meanwhile, plaster ceiling also help concealing pipes that protrude from the actual ceiling and reduce some noise.
Unfortunately it cannot reduce those noise made by stupid neighbor above.

yeah

sometime when you end up with a stupid neighbor above, really makes one feel like the condo is something one only want to live there temporary.

next time I must buy top floor unit.

or save up enough money to buy a single storey house in PJ and renovate it.

Top floor unit also got problem... heavy downpour + poor workmanship of constructor = gonna spend a lot of time to deal with management to fix your roof, wall, watermarks and etc rclxub.gif

If you had the budget, you can put acoustic dampening material within the plaster ceiling also.

I have done this as sound proofing for my office at home.

I had thought of that also. But remember the sound also travels around the wall (not just ceiling). So, I might just file an official complaint rather than wasting money rclxms.gif

Well. It will help. It won't be 100% unless you willing to spend some real moolah.

Or heck, just get landed properly with land at the sides. Silence.

Until some neighbour's kid who has zero musical aptitude try his hand at the piano, or even worst, fucking drums.

Lord have mercy on thy soul..

You r right

I wouldn't waste my money on sound dampening, otherwise I have to rebuild a soundproof "music studio" in my bed room.

this is good but I wouldn;t want to go that far, just want to send the message

If only this device is attach to a smartphone and thumps only when I call it at office.

You see if you fight fire with fire, it doesn't send out the message that his chair dragging is noisy, you just end up sending another message.

And that gadget...it appears you have to drill holes on your ceiling. I wouldn't want to do that.

Landed should be MUCH MUCH better than condo/flat.

But again, you know in KL, Penang, JB... those kiasu buggers like to park very near to your gate due to 1 family own 3 or more cars. Some like to use their garbage bin and stone to "reserve" their parking spot brows.gif

Same old shitty neighbor problem icon_idea.gif

My friend once bought the chair sticker thingy
U know the soft soft thingy to protect ur chair leg one
U put at bottom of the chair so when they drag it wont make a sound

She offered that to the neighbors upstairs and needless to say they feel offended and unhappy
But since then the dragging chair noise stopped

Your upstair neighbors probably don't know their action created such noise...
It's ok to let them know, in a civilized manner.

great idea

but how did you friend managed to catch the upstair neighbour as they were going out ?

I have to knock on the fella door.

Should I leave it at that fella's door with a message ?

I plan to put in a transparent back with a message and hang it on the fella door.

I have one neighbour that stay upstair and will go crazy and running/stomping hardcore during night around 1am.
One time the guy staying downstair come to my unit and ask me to stop making loud noise, I told him it was come from above.
Not sure what's the issue of the noise maker my best bet is some kid with ADHD, anyway I'm moving out soon to the highest floor.

my case, i always hear someone scratching the floor the unit above me, during midnight. but i'm assume MAYBE they have a dog, some dogs have habit scratching floor when they are bored.

Well, i'm used to be a dog owner, so i just bear with it. I dont care about the owner, but i dont want to cause trouble to the dog. Later complain, the one suffered is the poor animal
