aircond compressor rm800 ..sigh...
*
well last time my bro paid 7xx to change compressor and service the whole air cond system. sweat.gif

my advice is, for new car owners, always do regular servicing of your air cond. Either u pay rm70~100 for servicing once a year, or u end up paying rm700~1k for the whole thing. cry.gif

yup.. u better service at least once a year. Especially in our sunny climate and traffic jams in malaysia. The air cond works triple hard! sweat.gif

1) would strut bars or fender bars actually affect the power steering? as in the handling of the steering would get heavier, macam non power steering?
2) semi synthetic and fully synthetic oil. apa differences?
sweat.gif
*
1) will not effect power steering
2)semi synthetic still got some mineral oil+synthetic blend. Some say the synthetic blend might be of too small fraction. So might as well go fully synthetic. Just remember, once u go semi or fully, it's not recommended to downgrade. If u use semi, next change use semi as well. If u use full, make sure it's fully synthetic next change as well. Also make sure u change the same rating each time. thumbup.gif

sorry bro... it's not necessarily 50%. Sometimes it could be as low as 10%. sweat.gif

That's why better go fully synthetic terus. rclxm9.gif

QUOTE(domo_kun @ Jul 7 2007, 07:24 PM)
ah, why cannot change back to semi once started off with full synthetic?
jeez, i serviced it this morning, and pump in fully synthetic laa
don't feel any difference also la, tiuz
*
different chemicals now coating the internals creating different frictions.

And if any of u guys out there thinks that using fully synthetic means u can drag your car all the way to 10,000km before servicing, u r wrong. Better oils are made for better protections, not longer protection duration. icon_idea.gif

hmm.. tough one to answer. I dont really have the exact theory.. and I have lost my references. Imagine a fully synthetic engine oil is like a high quality ball bearing.

by the way, why were u even using semi synthetic before? Aren't stock saga should be running on 20/50 mineral oil? Which I have been using for 2 years, and cheaper some more. thumbup.gif

2nd, what is the difference btwn fog light, spotlight & driving light?
*
fog light=for others to see the light only. spotlight=as the name suggested, u can adjust the beam to shine certain spot/area.. as seen on 4wd. Driving light=auxiliary lighting meant to perform as good as headlamps if not better.

QUOTE(singchaii @ Jul 8 2007, 10:15 AM)
Can I know the foglight that domo_kun bought can change the bulb or not?
*
domo_kun using hella comet 450. most of the fog/spot lights sold in market, either cheap or expensive uses H3 bulbs which of course can be changed.

stock. mine came with it. almost 2 years and the thread is still like 90%. Even when I trade in the tyres, the mechanic said "wah.. baru tukar tayar sudah mau tukar rim ka? rugi la u..."

yealer... bigger radius wheel (rim + tyre) will increase ur speedometer reading....
*
Based on stock saga with 185/60/14 upgraded to;
15" with 195/50/15, your speedo will read more than your actual speed. Lesser diameter -0.3%, better pickup.
16" with 205/45/16, your speedo will read less than your actual speed. More diameter +2%, less pickup.
15" with 195/55/15, your speedo will read less than your actual speed. More diameter +3%, even lesser pickup.

So for stock saga, better avoid 195/55/15, as the recommended difference by experts is plus minus 2.5%. thumbup.gif

why bigger rims + tires would affect the speedometer?
*
let's correct your question first my dear friend, it should read "why smaller or bigger rims + tires would affect the speedometer?

Reason being, in the factory, when they fitted the tires, they will tune the speedo according to the diameters of the tire. Think logically; a small tire, from point A to point A will cover for example, 1 meter in distance. So will bigger tire, from point A to point A cover the same distance as well? NO.

hey guys.....
im quite new here so excuse me for my bad car lingo or anything okie?

nway....i got an aging iswara 1.3 aeroback.....i think the car is oredi bout 7-8 years.....the engine like wanna drop oredi....always vibrating like crazy expecially when starting in the morning....
now i got some extra money to at least make my car better...was thinking of changing the engine...and due to my absolutely lack of knowledge in engine and cars generally i was wondering if the sifu here can guide me a bit...
so my question....
wut type of engine better for me?im just a casual driver so i dont need any turbo or wutever performance engine....rarely drive beyond 120 so performance engine is out of question lah....prefer fuel save engine...and my daily commute is around 100km/h so fuel saving is important....
some of my buddy suggest changing to 1.5 for more power cz my house is in the hill area... a lot of hill climbing to go to my house...but they also say that the fuel is a bit more than 1.3...izzit true??
so i want your opinion and tips of wut i should do??i live in shah alam area so any shops you guys can intro to me??
thanks
*
Guys, since he's not looking for performance whatsoever, why not just get a 4g13 or 4g15. As long as the engine is equipped with electronic fuel injection, the fuel consumption between this 2 engine is negligible. icon_idea.gif

If u want less hassle, go and find workshops that can find the engine, overhaul, install, tune and do the jpj papers for u. Even a iswara running 2.0 VR4 is somehow approved, i guess a wira 1.5 engine with minor modification on the mountings should pass with flying colours. rclxm9.gif

I know nuts about workshop in shah alam. But if you really have the cash and doesnt mind leaving your car for 1 or 2 weeks in kajang/cheras area, there's a lot of garage doing transplant. Good luck! thumbup.gif
