I dropped my iPhone yesterday and my FaceID and TrueTone stopped working...

When I first dropped it everything was still working, no issue, but after about half an hour my faceID stopped responding so I went and restarted my phone, afterwards everything is okay again but only for another half an hour.

No matter what I tried after that, my faceID just refuses to work anymore.

It just show's FaceID : Issue and no additional error message, nothing about the TrueDepth camera too.

agree - the screen and overall size still make it a good phone.

My battery health still 88% although used since 2019 June.. Hehe

mine quite bad - no % - just ask for service ...

I think maybe you replaced it with 3rd party battery?

nope - still virgin phone - never open or replaced - i think my battery too weak and iOS request to replace at Service.

using as backup phone now ... so use it first.

I bought a 2nd hand Xs Max & sometimes the phone encounters either no touch response recently or ghost touch until I either restart the phone or press the power button to screen off & on to restore the no touch response. Any idea? Other function seems OK.

I think perhaps the previous owner had changed third party screen which is low quality. Is this refurbished set?

Maybe. I thought when change screen face unlock is disabled. Mine seems to work perfectly. The battery health goes down lower from 99% to 94% currently since before Hari Raya when bought. So I only thought battery has been replaced but it seems to be able to report the battery health. I'm not sure which shop the previous owner fixed his phone but it is working nicely other than the ghost touch issue.

I once do a screen change on my iPhone 7, a third party screen and this kind of ghost touch issues happened, until I changed to a original screen then the problem gone. Face unlock disabled? I not sure about this but I remember watched some China repair videos, doesn't looks like screen replacing will cause face id not working if the repairer knows what he is doing .

Good to hear that man. Last time saw several reports stating that Apple stopped face unlock when you swapped screen not registered with original motherboard even if it is a similar model exchange. I guess Apple did away with that feature. Was very annoying to prevent customers from repairing their iphones.

You're probably right. I'll explore a different screen when current one is busted. Overall, this is the last top model range that has the important optical zoom before it is available to pro models only. And I use it a lot.

Agree. I used 12 too and sometime I do feel the reach not enough. That's useful when shooting kids, shows... Etc etc
